Premium Ranks

I wouldn't use bombardier personally low to high: Private, Private First Class Lance Corporal Then your progression. I like the tiers in three like that. Adding a rank would always be nice to people kind of stuck in those 300 rating point gaps forever. Like me. haha Imho, most countries do not have bombardier as a rank, just like I wouldn't expect you to put specialist in there above corporal because that is pretty specific to the US army. Also I LOVE Maafi's idea. I like Aero's Blue, though appreciate the heck out of Psymon's blue being in the navy for 6 years, I can tell you all my "blues" uniforms were basically black. But for a game with black ranks already, I like Aeros. I really like Psymons darker red. Also, prefer Brigadier General (so stars=general) Regarding token costs, I would suggest make all officer ranks cost 1500 then use the current scale (2nd Lt currently costs 1300).

BTW, now that all the images are made and sized, making new variations is simple and quick.

And make me a sergeant in the meantime? Thanks, but no thanks :P I guess I don't like ditching the 1 stripe 1 bar rank.

Thanks Psy for highlighting the changes in red. I think you added a couple of lines though. Actually we may say WO and Chief WO are the same as now (in required ratings) but they both have 1 bar more as graphic icon. Anyway my suggestion is just a costant progression of one rank every 150 points, from Corporal to Warrant. The rest it's the same of the current system. Oh, well didn't read Aero has just eliminated one rank from the list. It's okay for me, no need of Bombardiers, nor rating changes!

I like it! But put General back in the O-7 rank :) If you get past Colonel, you are a general. Well, I have seen Brigadier used alone for random half centuries in many armies, so you can do whatever you want. It's like the Navy switching 0-7 from commodore to rear admiral back and forth every 100 years or so.

Guys, I think changing the points system as well as the rank names & images, plus adding new tab colour choices, is too overcomplicating the restructuring. This came from a simple mistake in my swapping the rank descriptions, where I posted 1 too many ranks, so I'm sorry for that. I don't see a problem with the points system, they were worked out on the mathematics of making it much harder to progress to a false rank to your ability, where you'll lose more points than you gain if you lose and the ability to gain a rank takes much more learning, skill and games played (time served) to progress. I know that Brigadier is not acceptable or uniform too, so I'll swap it back. @ Psymon, the new rank structure proposal would only change you to Sergeant because that's what rank is achieved by the points system. The old system had one or two incorrect associations and hierarchy and if we leave them as they are, they will possibly always be this way. In most forces, the steps to Sergeant are far fewer, but only warranted after time served and achieved abilities.

Well here you don't start as a private (ie 0 points) for obvious reasons.

Of course, but we have 2 extra corporal ranks to most ranks in reality, which compensates that and this is not reality, we have to call them something and they have to be military rank related. Please look at what I have suggested, which BTW also suggests a few graphic changes to accommodate (easy changes)... and let me know what you would suggest as a rank system, bearing in mind that 1 stripe means Lance Corporal and 2 stripes means Corporal?

I think it's fine, many beginners (like Psymon :P ) will fill awarded for skipping one rank up for free. 3-stripes-and-a-star I think is very wished by many, this way more people will be happy to get it. The commissioned are exactly the same. Cbt feels like it takes too long to rank up, but I don't think so. He just either doesn't play enough games or he is not good enough for ranking so fast or so high as he wish. Me too I thought to be the best of the World but at some point (sadly) I stopped to rank up. There's a (quite small) quantity of people that are better than me, nothing surprising in the end. Aero, please, can we have a final image with all the colour variations, rank names and points required? Just to resume everything we have said.
