Town of Token - Mafia game

[spoiler=DAY 2][color=grey]It's the weekend. Town square was littered with bottles, disposable plates and other rubbishes. Token wasn't expecting such a party, and half the council clean up crew called in sick. Hungover more likely. The Mayor has a bit of mess to clean up, but the Sheriff has a bigger mess on his hands. Sheriff didn't get much rest with a full day at work, and then had extra duties attending the Casino Opening which turned out to be an all night party going on till early hours of the morning. He finally hit the pillow for a much needed sleep, before his phone rings, It was a phone call sent from his anonymous informant. The Lookout was always cautious and very observant. He had to be. He never got close, and he changed his appearance every day with his bag of tricks. But someone had been watching him for a few days and today was his unlucky day. After a night of snooping the streets, he couldn't wait to get home and send an anonymous tip to the Sheriff, but there was someone waiting for him in his home. His shaking fingers managed to speed dial the Sheriff. The call went through but it spilled out of his hands as he was thrusted across the room. The Sheriff could hear screams of agony. Fortunately the phone was full charged and the call could be traced to his home where Token police found the Lookouts body lifeless in the basement.[/color] [b]The LOOKOUT was stabbed 27 times, killed by the Serial killer. The LOOKOUT was Henris_1[/b] [/spoiler] There are [color=green]9 TOWN[/color] - [color=red]4 MAFIA[/color] - [color=purple] 2 NEUTRAL[/color] - [color=blue]1 SERIAL KILLER[/color] DAY 2 BEGINS

Last night I managed to get protection. Now that we see that Henris_1 was killed by the Serial Killer we know that the Mafia targeted me correct? (Unless it was the vig which would be stupid). It is now DAY 2.[/spoiler] So does this mean that my list of possible suspects is a little too close to home? I believe we have 3 possible night kill scenarios. 1. Serial Killer 2. Mafia 3. Vig It wasn't #1 and pretty sure it wasn't #3. Why oh why would the Mafia target me and not get a successful kill? :) I guess let's start with the obvious. Does anyone have any information on the four I mentioned (Huskers01, Madagascarter, Sygmassacre, elysium5) that would prove their innocence? Also, I guessed right that Henris wasn't Mafia.

Dough A) It is easy to steal that from game mechanics and roles. That is a move a mafia would do. B) Jailor could have jailed the mafia chief so there was no kill. C) You are being honest and mafia who wasn’t on the list was trying to frame those who are on the list D) You are honest and the mafia have panicked to attack you which is a Noobish move which doesn’t sound like the mafia you have selected. E) Many of the predictions you made at the beginning were WAY too early to start making any judgements and for people to believe you. You cannot attack people for not posting when it is the first day. So if you think an intelligent mafia would take that move, based on your random guesses, is laughable

Dough, just a question: how did you get a protection? What are the different options possible? Sorry I don't know all the roles by heart. Fo the moment, I tend to trust you: I think Madagascarter, Sygamassacre, and Paulcha are acting weird trying to conter rational arguments. On the other hand, if I were the MAFIA, it would be a bad strategy for them to have the same speech... so I am not sure of anything yet. Probably one or two of of them is MAFIA but not all of them. Also what you said about Henris knowing well the game is a reason for people who have played with him before to kill him soon. Who has ever played this game before with Henris? Can we have a full list?

There are 5 Roles who could say this whether or not it is true so it is hard to verify if you actually received that message or you are just saying you did: Bodyguard Doctor Survivor Serial Killer Godfather There are 6 roles that could thwart a night kill: Bodyguard Doctor Escort? Transporter? Survivor Serial Killer While it is true I am on that list, apparently, for 'being quiet in the forum the first day of the game or because I had once had a mafia role in the past, I was talking to several people via PM so not exactly quiet and not exactly a good reason to put me on that list. I can't help that the only time I had a mafia role was in the first game I ever played (realm of spades, which I lost) and also I don't see it as a good reason to put me on that list What I do see about that list is that you singled out 4 players you think might be dangerous to you for whatever reason. That list is too short if your requirements are simply quiet or former mafia and I am not arguing that I should not be on such a list but you have left off others who should be on it and I am more curious about that than anything. So players who make a short statement like "I'm Town!' or #No Lynch are ruled out why? Anybody can say those things. It doesn't mean much. Why aren't you on that list? Maybe you knew you wouldn't die because you are the Serial Killer or you are the Godfather and knew it was unlikely you would be killed first night because of that and are using it to throw suspicion at specific players you feel are a threat to you? Now I am not trying to throw you under the bus but I am sure going to defend myself from getting thrown under it based on your reasoning especially since, and anybody please correct me if I'm wrong, but I recall someone saying the only time mafia has ever won a game played on this site, both recent and in the past was the GOT game. So why would experienced players choose to play a faction role that was highly likely to fail? Some of those players might be mafia and some might not but are you really helping Town if you get the wrong ones lynched with a list based on that? How about this list: Kyla Skarni Vicious Jimi why not add: Dough-boy I'm sure I could come up with some pretty good arguments for that as well and I'm sure I could come up with a dozen more combinations of both the players I posted and the ones I left off but what good would that do either? It is a guessing game at best and could hurt us if we are wrong. We need a better plan than that. So far, the best reasoning I can see being used is this much overlooked but incredibly wise statement from Jimi: "You have to contact people and make some conclusions"

Elysium you just created a new list out of thin air. I can see why you said dough boy and I too am finding Kyla a little on the suspicious side which is definitely not like her, but the rest? Jimi, Skarni, Vicious? Also you forgot Jailer and Veteran can stop kills but the Veteran would kill his visiters. Quick Edit: Just remembered Blackmailer, could have used it on his own team??? Unlikely but entirely possible.

This is whatI could put together reading the roles in detail. All the hypothesis explaining why the Target received such a message of too high defence, Dough boy being the Target : H1 : Target of MAFIA protected by the DOCTOR-> Doctor knows MAFIA attacked the person he protected and the Target knows he/she was protected H2: The Target is the DOCTOR -> Only have one more life H3 : Target of MAFIA is the BODYGUARD -> Bodyguard is out of Bullet proof vest H4: Target of the MAFIA was in JAIL -> Target might have been interrogated, so the Jailer might know the identity of the Target identity. H5 : Target of the MAFIA is the SURVIVOR -> Has 3 remaining vests H6 : The ESCORT blocked the ability of the GODFATHER -- But I don't know if in this case the Target would receive the message H7 : The Target of MAFIA is the SERIAL KILLER -> can"t be killed at night -- But same thing, not sure the SERIAL KILLER receive a message in this case- Also, another player could have been the target H7 : TRANSPORTER Swapped Target of the MAFIA -> Target of the MAFIA was swapped with any one of the following roles For now, it's a lot of hypothesis, but some with more infos migth be able to deduce something from it

And Anaxagore, I wish to comment on your'e accusation coming from nowhere, I don't see in what I am acting weird, you acusating random people, because they are "acting weird" seems a lot weirder. This is basically, because I was not a found of Your Idea of saying the roles because I think it can help the MAFIA more than the TOWN. And I believe my arguments are as rational as yours. And it seems it was the case for most of us, since only you and Dough boy were if favor. So I don't see why you would accuse people based on nothing, except to create suspects so you're not one of them. If you are from TOWN why would throw rocks at people, without having any infos, risking they are your friends, and possibly making a big mistake. This seems much much less rational than my argumentation on why I think your idea was a bad one.

I am on myphone at as picnic...won't be ar computer for another 6 hours or so. But...long story short the Sheriff reached out to me...providing full communication thread which also includes who the lookout was watching. Henris was the lookout and was watching Kyla. I know who visited visited Kyla...so it is just a matter of a few hours before i get the chance to look at the roles to see why. If anyone else was told the were inspected by the sheriff let me know (nit who) and we might have caught our first mafia.
