Well, the river on the left does nothing for gameplay, it's more important the zone where actively divides territories, and it's also important it doesn't draw too much attention in the less useful zone. I'd say it's good as it is.

Other points seem to need improvement, as I've read somewhere, but never got to know which ones.
Living proof that everyone can be a brilliant great good decent cartographer.

I got inspiration for a graphic retouch, possibly making this map a bit more appealing.

You have to admit that sentence is pretty cool on a Risk map. I can remove the name of Nelson Mandela if it bothers someone. But there is even a metropolitan district called Nelson Mandela Bay, so I think he is recognized as a historical hero by most South Africans. He is part of South African history, like Abraham Lincoln for the United States or Giuseppe Garibaldi for Italy.

coming from a southern hemisphere country (new zealand) and also a rugby country, I am a little familiar with South Africa.
our great foe! in the sport we come close to calling our religion lol.
i like this idea for an update. rainbow is cool, representing the rainbow nation, like it. their flag is cool, like their beautiful anthem..I'd get rid of the quote on the flag tho.
background images are very nice.
normally i probably wouldn't put a political name to a map, but since it's going with the rainbow theme, and mandela's signifigance to it, it's fitting. can u add a rugby ball? haha.
nah, just kidding, but i know a proud south african would get a kick out of that!

also, i have been thinking about this map lately, wondering why it doesn't get played as much. gameplay is cool. maybe a graphic touch-up helps.

I like the adjustments.  One comment, maybe move the words that are blocking the elephant to somewhere else in that territory so you can see the full animal.

Thanks guys for the positive comments. @God, sorry I cannot move the text without the file. That elephant was supposed to be almost invisible.

@Hoodlum, I agree with you that including politics in a game map is a bit beyond the line, but I think in this case we can make an exception because the guy is well entrenched in the history of South Africa...

Thanks, I'm learning new things: I didn't know about South African rugby tradition. Perhaps I could try to include something softly recalling the Springboks national team. Well, this would be even more beyond the line, but probably it would be cool and it deserves a try. I dunno.
I'm almost done with it and ready to post some new images, but unfortunately I can't find a little piece of relaxed inspired time to finish it properly.
Be patient please...
