Why does youth in Asia advance? I think there has to be a round robin tournament of all the losers to determines who takes their place.

Why is iparsona being penalized for a partner who is blocked from playing? if iparsona cant find a replacement player, then option 1 is the only option, But why iparsona finding a replacement/substitute is not even under consideration is baffling me. *i have no problem if their game starts a day later than the rest. * i would only say a replacement player should not be from the pool of those who already played and lost

I don't think so Dracarys. First because it would be too long an 8 teams tournament to determine what of the loser teams will go to the 2nd round: you will get the others to wait 1 month or so. Second because we lost and we are out! @Axo. Iparsona's mate banned really surprised me. But those are the rule, partner banned equals team banned. If we don't do that then you might have a player in the final game without have been playing the previous rounds of the tourney. By the way if you still want to play team games... I think it would be nice to have an unofficial "tournament of the losers". Even with Iparsona in with a new teammate or some other teams that want to join. Just for having fun and practice.

@bishop ( and the rest) So, we are trading the unfairness of a single player who had not played previous rounds , with the unfairness of a team getting a free win? i still dont get it, a sub player is the lesser of 2 evils, in fact , this whole tourney probably should have been designed to allow for a single substitution .

how about a waiting list of players willing to fill gaps that are made... not teams that are waiting... its woudl be like having 2 lines for a collar coster... one for people who want to sit together and another for people who dont care who they sit with, that way every seat gets filled. if you have a list of extra players willing to fill in instead of teams waiting woudl that not work better?

Thorpe, i think in this instance westchester was forced to not continue in the site, tho willing to complete the tourney, this has nothing to do with iparsonas doing . we would have more sympathy for iparsona if westchester met an unfortunate end like accidental real life death? i think we would,, iparsona is half the team that won, which to me outweighs the team that lost legitimately. all other options gives a free win to a team

I think it's hard in these cases to define what is fair and what is not. In fact I don't envy Lifeinpixels' charge in this moment. This tournament is not being so easy to menage as it was expected. By the way Axo we are not trading anything. We are just trying to define universal rules useful also for the next times. The decision has already been taken: [i]"If your teammate cannot play for whatever reason, or does not join the game within 48 hours, your game will be forfeited and you will be eliminated from the tournament."[/i] So crude as necessary. But we forgot to define what to do in case of a player banned between the end of a game and the beginning of the next. Lifeinpixels offered us 3 options, the 1st looking the most voted, closed. Consider also that if the new rule was in place in the 1st round then Youth-in-Asia would have anyway skipped to the 2nd round because of Westparsona not joining the game in time. And if the new rule was in place Axo&Clarke would have never been called to join the tournament. And it was just a miracle because you were 4th in the list. And how you won that game is just another miracle! Since do you still want to talk about fairness? Lols (joking!) I wouldn't comment on the case of a player having an accident. But I think in that case the referee is allowed to take the decision which he thinks is the best, doesn't matter what rules say. But... come on! Do you want to talk about that now? By the way I'm really sorry for Iparsona. We all know that he has nothing to do with his teammate's behaviors. But, unfortunately for him this is a team tournament... If we have to say thanks to somebody for all this mess, those are sekretar and westchester!

This is what players keep forgetting... players must consider all aspects of a teammate before considering him as a partner, not just strategy. I am also very sorry for lparsona, but I don't think there is a better alternative. I'm very hesitant to allow substitutes mid-tournament, because it is no longer the same team who is competing, and the change in skill makes the tournament unfair. On another note, I will be creating the games for round 2 tonight (I hope). Once the game is created (and invites sent), you have 48 hours to join! Don't forget.

okay, i give you a B for 'effort' but a D for 'content' (@bishop( (lol jk) substitutions are a normal aspect of tourney events, Pixels did mention a 48 hr period to find a replacement , also. and i am sorry you sound so bitter about the loss , but our game is not relevant. ( yet, i was under the impression sekretar had the option of replacing his partner) if the decision stands , it stands. i just hope we learn from this experience to improve the next tourney. i would like this to be my final comment, we want good games played, advancement earned, not the 2 vs 1 option,, and so the 'free win' option going to any team doesn't set well ,, with a substitution, at least there is a fair fight that results in advancement or failure.

Just so you guys know what's coming after this... There will be 4 winning teams. So round three will consist of 2 games, randomly paired. The winners from both games will compete in round four for 1st and 2nd place, and the losers of the two teams will compete for 3rd and 4th.
