Whatever the meaning of the black thick line, it looks too thick! Bridges aren't great, but perhaps they are just provisional...

i removed the thik black line. it supposed to represent the rus principalities. the bridges are provisional indeed. once the map is okay gameplay wise, i would put normal bridges on the mapm

Well, i see the kolovrat as a traditional slavic symbol. it is common among right-wing groups of slavic origin, but cannot be reduced to its political meaning among these people alone. the same applies to runes, thors hammers and other pagan symbolism. they have a religios/cultural meaning and at the same time can be used by political groups.

i put the kolovrat as a decoration to emphasize the (predominantly) slavic cultural and ethnic origin of the main political entity portrayed on the map, the Rus.

I dont know where you are from, but everywhere in eastern europe it is a common sign to use, as necklaces, tattoo motives and so on. Similar to thors hammer, crosses and other stuff. In western europe this sign is not so well known, due to its slavic origin and the fact that western europe is more germanic/celtic. anyway i have really not expected to somebody to dislike it.

Anyway, the kolovrat is mainly a decoration and i can remove it and/or replace it with more common and slavic-associated symbols.

ps: your profile picture can also be interpreted in a negative way by christian groups, for example as disrespect towards (catholoc) christianity.

regarding the bridges: well, they are just provisional, i will make proper ones, once the gameplay is okay.

Bishop: you can search in internet on the meaning of slavic symbols, for example here:
https://www.craftsmanspace.com/free-patterns/slavic-pagan-symbols.html

Fun fact: There are many similar signs and some resemble the swastika, which is also another ancient slavic symbol, tracing its roots to the indo-european cultures from which all european tribes descend. All these signs have some kind of spiritual/religious meaning and in some cases the meaning is forgotten and people just make up a meaning.
the problem is that many people dont know anything about their native cultures and their own/others history and if they do, then mostly from reddit, twitter and/or american movies and netflix series.

Anyway, i am really wondering about your negative attitude towards the kolovrat. If people dont like it, i can of course remove it, no problem lol.

Maybe you can read some of the articles:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slavic_Native_Faith

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Slavic_deities

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slavic_creation_myth

And on youtube there are good content creators, such as Slavic Affairs and Survive the Jive, who make videos about slavic history and more broadly indo-european history.

I am also of slavic descend and never did i think of this symbol of something close to national socialism. anyway, i can remove the kolovrat, if the literacy on ones own culture/ethnic heritage is so poorly developed by some people.

Im sorry that the simple wheel from an old corn mill was taken over by the Nazis as a symbol, maybe the sun worshipers could have adopted it to wage war against the moon worshippers, but in this day and age it is not a case ,if you need lessons in real and not orchestrated history call me, Im here for you.

if you want the map to succeed and meet the criteria from this site, then you should follow the instructions by Bishop and Hoodlum because they are ones of verified map makers with expirience.

I am open and I have very broad views, by the fact that I keep my history to myself, you are talking about yourself as a limited person for new knowledge and you are confirming the fact of twisted history and brainwashed people. Regarding the issue of maps from the point of view of map creators, I think that I, as a total beginner I have more experience in making maps than you. Say hello to the team that makes the map on your behalf.that map is made at an express speed, as if you are a super human, a top expert and that you have made thousands before this one, by the way, I don't like anything about that map at all, in my opinion, it does not meet the conditions to be uploaded.
Im finished with this thread.Good luck

Okay, it's a drawing that already existed before, but nowadays it's used by far-right neo-nazi or neo-pagan groups.
That symbol has too much of religious--political implications, this is the reason why I don't like it.
Apart from that I like the historical theme and I am open to test the map.

The black line could stay for the historical significance, it was just a bit too thick in my opinion.

Ok thanks Dima. Wow this is huge, it will take time!! Let's talk a bit about the historical theme, please.
The title is in old Slavic "Русьскаꙗ землꙗ", right? = The land of the Rus.
The letter M in the title looks a bit like a Swastika, or is it just me?

I have not much knowledge of the Kievan Rus' (or how you call it), I just know that some schoolars critics the name, so probably Medieval Rus' (as you wrote) is acceptable or even better, because I know that back into those days it was simply called Rus'.
So finally which title has to be on the map? Land of Rus' or Medieval Rus' ? I don't know. For now I'm creating the map with the title Medieval Rus' (as it is in this forum thread), but it can still be changed if you want (also in the future).

P.S. As the input of the map will take long, you can still work on improving the graphics, fixing details or flaws, and drawing some proper bridges.
