Also, why the Kiev region is not part of the Rus' when some historians call it the Kievian Rus'?
There's a contradiction then. In which year is suited the map (more or less)

It would be cool to see some ice effects in the cold north, but I know it is not so easy to do.

The super-regions and the sections are intended to highlight the geographical developments, expansions & contractions of the political entities of that part of the world and simultaneously add a new game mechanic, the additional bonus system.

After the mongol invasion the rus states became weaker and its neighbors used the weaknes to expand at the cost of the rus territories. so did the duchy of lithiania. they defeated sviatoslav of kiev at the irpin battle. thats when kiev, galych and volyn became part of lithiania. later lithuania and poland merged and formed polish-lithuanian commonwealth. the former lands of rus conquered by lithuania also became part of that commonwealth. thats one reason i put lands west of dnepr into the polish-lithuanian section. after mongol and lithianian invasions the center of gravity shifted to susdal-vladimir, where then moscov emerged.
the second reason is the game play &geography. i decided to follow the territorial devisions provided by the rivers to create sections. one section is west from dnepr, one is between dnepr and volga and one is above volga.
of course my divisions and historical developments not always clearly alight with each other, but i try to make good compromise where its possible.
in addition many territories went fom one side to another very often. its not like in usa or australia where once established names&borders remain until today.

regarding years: map, regions and super regions are roughly between 1000-1300. sections are 1300+

i ll fix the other mentioned things.

Ah okay, it extends in time from 1000 to 1300+. Let's say "circa XII-XIII century".

I think you made a small mistake, bcoz in the older version Saksin region was part of Deshti Qipchaq.

Also, your images in your last posts are 955 pixels wide, not 1024. I think it was not the correct link.

Plus, keep in mind that the playing land, the non-playing land and the ocean (the 3 of them) all need textures. We do not want solid colours, we want textured colours. Your map hasn't showed any textures yet.

Well, i managed to decrease the Size after i re-arranged the Mini Maps. I Hope its okay so.

Ouch, oh no! I thought you made the map taller, instead you have made it narrower!
... Nope, sorry Dima, it is not okay, the map had to be 1024 pixels wide.

You simply decreased the size of the mini-maps (and still they are more clear because they are not shrinked anymore).

When I told you 1024x1024 I was thinking at somtehing like this:
example 1024x1024 (click to show)

Your way also can work, probably is a better layout than mine, BUT then you should scale everything from 955x855 to 1024 x around 917...
Perhaps you can scale the image without text, then you add the text back at the current size. I don't know...
I thought it was clear that the image width had to be 1024 pixels.

The new text is clearly better, more readable.

As for the image size I don't know what to suggest, we can try to load it as it is and see how it shows on the screen, but it's off standard.

Well, okay 955 is just 69 pixels too short, it is not a big difference. It works.
We can keep it as it is or add a frame to match the standard of 1024.

alright, i kept the size. also added some painting as background, similar to the usa map.

Spoiler (click to show)

basicly, there are slavic prince surrounded by his druzhina(army) and gods/wooden idols. the painting on the upper left side is maybe a bit thick, but there is empty space anyway. i also made sure, there are no "questionable" pagan symbols, that have - in addition to their cultural & religious meaning - a controversive political meaning.
the paintings give the map colors a bit texture.

those bonuses are too complicated and the minimap is not the same color
I would say this will be the least played map ever
People like bigger maps just to make it less complicated
3 minimaps take a lot of space, if I'm wondering, I would simplify the bonus to 1 minimap and put it in the same color as the map

Oregon Cities also has 2 level of bonuses, Roman Empire also has extra bonuses for holding large sections, and Eld World and Timor Islands also have contested areas. In this map there's a mix of all those features.
