We could get this topic of rules in a staff forum...so we do not get it lagged down with talking about ideas. then we can move the idea here for a vote.

By the way you got what I was saying lifeinpixels.
95.5% of the time you kill a players cap before your 2nd turn in... you fail or die next

I think it's important for anyone who wants to participate to give their opinion. But it seems there's not much left to discuss for the near future, unless people bring up more ideas.

In the games...who is who...are the games all the same?

The four games I posted earlier are just to make sure gameplay works well like we think it will. Hopefully it will just be a matter of days before we find out who wants to play the tournament and then get the games started!

I missed this. I think team games are very interesting. But I think the turn order should be alternated for the reason stated by Muzuane. For a single game the easiest solution can be to let the system to randomly assign the turn order and then play 1st and 3rd players against 2nd and 4th. Practically teams are random. It can be also applied to an higher number of teams or players per team.

That is an interesting solution Bishop. But, I don't think I'd want to be paired with someone who I'm not used to playing with. I want to know my teammate's strategy, and get along with them, etc.

2 of the games I'm testing right now have teammates playing next to each other. I will report back how those games go, maybe it will work after all.

Pixels, you may want to check with a staff programmer (Cireon?) to see if they can change the turn order.

For example, if 1st and 2nd in the same team, swap 2nd and 3rd (in 2 vs 2) for example.

At first, it will have to be done manually directly in database I guess
Later, when they have time, they can build a page to manually change the turn order and give permission to admin / mod.

With regard to turn order, I see from test games, once 1 player is eliminated, the remaining 2 team members become back to back turns automatically, possibly giving the 1 remaining team member no chance of the win!
Team 1A / Team 2A / Team 1B
This is the same as Team 2A / Team 1B / Team 1A
Team 1 has both its A & B members playing consecutively!
This puts the kamikaze move for the sake of the team as a bad move!

Imagine Team 1 members getting a turn-in each at high value, the Team 2 member would be wiped out before his turn!

Now where does this put you on the point system to eliminate the kamikaze/suicide move?
Use the test as proof!

As it is classed as a team TOURNAMENT, shouldn't we just have a table that leads to a final game for the 1st and 2nd place.

Team points would get you into the final and the winners would be champions!!
So if there are 8 teams, that's 7 games each then the final and the play-off for 3rd place, a total of 8 games for those in the top 4 in points. Fixtures are easy to work out, start dates would be no problem as we can play lots of long term games at the same time, so there'll be no delay to start times.
When you are happy with the game play procedures and point allocation, let me know the team names and proposed start date and I will draw up the fixtures and dates and PM all the tournament players their fixtures and start dates.
If somebody can't be available to play their fixture, it would have to be either postponed, forfeited or arranged for a reserve player to stand in perhaps??, but the show must go on or there'll be a delay for the final and play-off.

I can make an image file that everyone can see, uploaded to my server with a link sent to everyone, you can just go there any time and the table will be the latest standings, as long as team names and the points system are prearranged and results are fed to me regularly. I can even put a link in the lobby for other players to see, which may encourage new teams to emerge and join the next tournament.

Tontot, thanks for your suggestion. I talked to Matty and he doesn't know how to do it (yet) but I'll send Cireon a message too.
