There are other games where it is not allowed but I don't do it that way because I also post all the roles in the beginning so as not to make it possible for someone to find hidden flaws or mistakes in role claims to use against others. I also send out all roles at the same time so the time stamps are usually within the minute and I send every role out randomly so there is no particular order sequence for assigned roles that can be inferred using the timestamps. Also, I use a random number generator to assign roles. The assignments are random always. Doesn't matter if the players are new or experienced or how 'important' a role might be. It is always random selection for me. I also don't try to balance a game behind the scenes. If one group gets lucky, they get lucky. If they figure something out and get a good move early, good for them. It is all part of the game. On a side note, this post where I brought Tenn back: https://dominating12.com/forums/5/off-topic/3781/savage-garden/post/82405#post-82405 I did not do this to 'balance' the game or because the role was 'importan't or not or for any other reasons other than it was early in the game, a player wasn't able to continue and another active player was available to take over. This is not something I usually do because there is usually some sort of message exchange that could hurt/help a specific team but this case was special as there were no compromising PM's or any other issues that would make this a bad scenario one way or the other so I decided to offer Tenn a chance to play for the other player.

Logged back on after taking a much needed break: Seriously, if you want to find out if I’m tomato or if, as a first time player I figured out I could edit the role PM, convince a bunch of players im a tomato and I’m really a slug like our slimy co-player Abs is…And If you’re that confident that I’m really that good, enough to risk the number of tomatoes left… there is only one way to find out!

Roger that. And your words of wisdom would be to what exactly? how should one conduct themselves when the inevitable spotlight lands upon them? I figured I'd give the old fashioned truth a try - look back... ask around to folks who've spoken to me (you certainly haven't) - if asked I'm straight up and honest and blunt.

But some also think that was a really smart move from a slug perspective. 100% tomato here - I got nothing to hide.
