Romeo & Juliet Mafia - Game Thread

Alright, I am bit sad i randed town but i know how this game works as i won the last one and i'm gona make sure we (town) play optimally from the very beginning. It is dangerous for me to play pro town actively as i become a prime target but given no one knows my mask color for now, and that someone needs to out himself to organise the town correctly, i’m going to do it. First thing first: if you are town, i advise you to not go outside at night. As it's better for you to stay inside to know if someone #oil it. There is the possibility mafia will #oil and #ignit the same night you house, but it shouldn't happen too soon as mafia will probably opt for a massive explosion one night strategy. But for now staying home will prevent you from getting killed (don't think a simple sword/dagger or gauntlet will protect you, mafia can give you wine and stab you). There is a time where we will organise to see who is outside their homes at night, but we will probably do this with cameras. I also believe mafia will wait to be fully equipped before starting to wine/stab people with a fake mask. As becoming homeless will probably happen to many of us, do not buy the same things twice. The first things you need to buy are: a dagger(/wait for a sword if you can afford), a gauntlet to be able to survive when you will have to go outside once your house is destroyed. Then we can think of having a fake vote, another mask to increase our survival at night if we are homeless, or an iron crow if we have an idea of who is rich. Another thing: do not reveal your mask color as long as we don’t have an idea of which mask is bad. Once we do we can mass claim but mass claiming too soon can only help mafia target us at night. Also mafia will probably commit crimes at night with an extra mask so we really should wait to claim masks to be sure we know one color is very bad. About the Lord of Verona election, running for election is a dangerous exercise as it means you have to go out at night to do so (sure mafia doesn't know your mask yet but it still is dangerous as we don't know their secret abilities), so i suggest we start the election in between ourselves at night to know who has a chance to get elected and hence to reduce the amount of people who will be outside. Another thing about the election: I know we all want to have more money but usually people who benefit from the capitalist regime are bad people. Neutrals and Mafia will have more money than the rest of us probably so i think a socialist regime is the best for town. If people like my idea, i will run as a socialist candidate tomorrow morning.

Once it happens, you probably should stay outside to avoid the big boom. #check houses will be very useful to get to know who is not staying at home tonight. A selected few people (probably people running for election) will additionaly #check all houses and give the town a report. Two different people would be nice to make sure the person is not lying. Whoever is outside without permission will be suspected and will have to explain himself.

Can I volunteer to check everyone’s house’s? I do not wish to run for Lord of Verona tonight.

All this time I have been busy editing post#1 to include various pieces of Mod Feedback for night actions. Included is also a list of the possible mask colours and a generic Town win clause. Available mask colours are also being given to the mafia to avoid mask-claiming exposing all of the mafia (too easy for Town).

It is 2 night actions maximum. So i suggest the people who run for the election are also checking the houses. Hence these people can't do anything else. Like stab someone or oil a house. If we follow this rule, mafia and neutrals are stucked home and can't do anything. Does it benefits us? I'm not sure yet as it means people will start stocking stuff but i can imagine there is a kind of investigator among us so probably.

The 3 neutrals are probably: -The ShopKeeper. -Romeo and Juliette. Probably one suicides if the other dies. Or maybe these two are townies each from a different family.

So if I want to run for election I should also check houses?

i have never played this type game and am fine following someone else's lead. i can keep my hat in the ring or bow out. maybe somebody else should run but not announce ahead of time so mafia won't know who it is til later? also i can change to socialist if that is better. please advise.

How about: I run for Socialists, and check houses. Tennesse runs for Capitalists and check houses. No one else does anything. Tomorrow morning, people choose me or Tenesse as the new Lord. If someone lied, we'll find out. If no one lied, then no one dies and that's good for Town.

anax - do you want miln and/or i to run also so we can ck houses? and if so does it matter what economic regime this early in the game?
