I'm almost certain Alex is romeo and as soon as he's dead the town/town war will start. Which is to my mind too soon with 1 neutral and 3 mafia left. Give me the position of mayor and i'll find and lynch another of the scums.

unelect hoodlum i agree it's too soon to have a house squabble, but i want to lynch the neutral, but rather an unknown town inherit it.

I don't think the shopkeeper is part of any of the families (makes no sense for the story(telling) and makes no sense for game balance either). Just completely neutral/Switzerland. Which is also why everyone has been gunning at him/her; noone has a particular (egoistic) reason for keeping him/her alive. That said; s/he can be a great asset to each family.
