What about a map of middle earth

while playing the Texas map for a first, i could swear i heard a faint banjo track playing continuesly in the background. while it must have been my imagination, I was wondering if it was possible to add soundtrack to dif maps. Nothing fancy (could just be one or two tracks looping) and of course an option to toggle it on/off. This idea is merely to add a little flavor/fun from the mapmaker, but only of course if it is an easy thing to do.

funny you say that. i had a moment like that..not sure if it was the texas map though. I like the idea of a small intro sound when the game starts, nothing repetitive though, just at the start, kinda like when you choose a civilisation in age of empires.

something like that could fun...if only an intro, there could also be an outtro (when a player dies/ and or when game ends)

Sound would be nice to put you in the time-scale, similar to how Hoodlum suggested, but I'm sorry, I can only make the images and not the sounds.

This should really be in Suggestions/Feedback, this thread is purely for Map Suggestions, but seem as we are discussing map stuff, that banjo you associate with Texas is cool to know, it means the map feels Southern USA. I can hear Cannons, Muskets and Shouting, especially when I look at the Mexican border and the Alamo!
On Westeros & Essos, I hear the clash of steel and horses and there's also the 'fly in' effect on this map because of the angled 3D effects on a 2D image.

An american revolution map and civil war map could be cool.

There is one that is in the pipeline, a revolution map, the American War of Independence Massachusetts (Southern New England)
This took place mainly in the NE of the USA.

More city maps could be fun as well. Maybe London, Toyko, Moscow just to name a few. Also a subway line would be very cool. Thx again for all the great maps already in play.

Huskers, I've played on a London Underground map and it's OK but not really that fun. I've also played risk on the periodic table! Worst game ever!

You try playing risk on the periodic table. You can't hold a single region and there were massive armies storming around the board sucking up the ones that would just get taken again by the next player.
