The Philippines

As it is in my language all countries or places with plural name are usually called with the article, and I think it's the same in English: the Philippines, the Bahamas, the Arab Emirates, the United States... But all those country names are in the atlas without "The". When there is an adjective in place also [i]it tends[/i] to be call with the article: the Dominican Republic, the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom... "The Philippines" sounds a bit funny to me, like it is the title of a movie. Among the D12 maps I think, but I can be wrong, the most want the article: the Ancient Realm, the Isthmus of Panama, the Solar System...

I agree with the Isthmus of Panama, disagree with the rest. In Spanish everything is written/said without article, normally. But in any case this is written in English and as such we should treat it.

True! I didn't know it about Spanish, it's sound weird to me, Republica Dominicana with no article... By the way you are right Psymon, this is written in English and this is point. Differently then Spanish, many countries in English are called with the article but obviously the article is not part of the name. I don't know for what reason you all are weirdly trying to demonstrate the contrary but everybody know the country name is Philippines; doesn't exist on the Earth any country named The Philippines (nor in English nor in every other language). That being said if you prefer the map title to stay with the article it is perfectly possible and there is nothing wrong on that. It's just a matter of taste. My preference is with no article because it is more practice, I can easy find the Philippines at the letter P. But I don't want to spend more time on such irrelevant subject.

I am not opposed to either, as we regularly leave out the article when writing reviews / summaries and I actually input the map as just Philippines. When Psymon pointed out that it had "The Philippines" in the title, my intention was simply to make the input title the same as the creator intended and because he is half Filipino and the fact that my Filipino friends call it The Philippines, I go with the natives. It really doesn't matter.

Time for some feedback to get this out of Beta, okay what do you all have on this map?

The Philippines map is ideal for 2p consecutive and sametime modes because of it's size. It's recommended size is gameplay for 2-5 players. Capitals are good in my opinion. As a player I hope to not get a drop on both sides if my cap is in Sulu. (Sulu is a cap in 3/4/8 players). Map input is correct. There was a graphical issue of an unclear border line picked up by aero and fixed. The border between Aguson del Sur / Davao Oriental was widened for readability as it looked like Sarigao could be mistaken of being joined to Davao Oriental. My favourite setting so far is 2p fog unlimited settings sametime or consecutive. When getting familiar with the connection routes of the islands you can load up troops in hiding spots for attacks (fog). The drops for 2p seems to always be fairly even and rarely if not, noticed any lopsided drops. *like how the circle colours work with the map colour scheme Several test games were created. These were the test games & results. Feedback has been generally positive.
