I have numbered the territories provisionally until aero has time to name them:

By the way, I agree with Vir about the texture of the lakes.

Please could you link melee numbered into dropbox, as I can't see this image due to a web block. :(
It is now Day 8. Please submit your Lynch vote, as well as any Role-specific Day actions you wish to perform (countdown).

To make Region 1 less crowded I think that combining territories,2 and 7, OR ,4 and 5, would be good. You can add another territory anywhere. Perhaps a small one above region 21? Or if you don't want to change the shape of the map spilt territory 52 with a vertical border? Also Region 1 is a much harder region to keep than region 7 for the same bonus.

No, it's Old English. The one aero used.

As Carter said, region 1 should be 4.

@Madagascarter Okay I will combine 2 & 7 in Region 1, but don't think your suggestion of where to add one will work, so I recommend adding one to territory 16 in Region 2 and raising the bonus to 5.
Also I agree that Region 1 is very slightly harder than Region 7 to defend.
Region 1: has 3 Borders total to defend that can be attacked from 5 other Territories and by combining Territories 2 & 7 it will have 7 Territories instead of 8
Region 7: has 3 Borders & 6 Territories and can be attacked from 4 other Territories.
If there was a half troop bonus, Region 1 would be a good candidate, but I can't really justify taking it up to 4... what do you all think?
In the meantime, I will move some Territories as per suggestions and upload it with numbers like PsymonStark did for me (many thanks for your help BTW) and we can take it from there.

I don't know if I'm late but I would have merged 3&7 instead of 2&7. 3 has a very weird form, and makes it difficult to put its label.

The region 1 has a theoretical bonus of 3.533. I would put a 4 there if 54 linked to 6 instead of 9, because of the strategical advantage.

Also, please take a look to the border between 3&5, as I forgot to mark it in red last day. YW on the numbering ^^

You are not late really Psymon, because besides combining 2 & 7 I also changed the shape of old 3 territory.
I went all the way instead of numbering the Territories, I named them in mostly Anglo Saxon names.
I didn't increase the bonus for Brown as I felt moving the off map connection would have thrown Green in turmoil as I have only just moved a brown region to there.
I have pretty much done what I said I was going to do above.
I also added to the weak point of the Territory line you remarked that you had forgotten to mark.
I also changed the lake texture to transparent to see background as suggested Vir & Psy.

Aaah! I definitely hate when every territory in a region starts with the same letter. It just looks fake. Don't take that into account anyway. It's just a thing of mine.

There is a problem indeed with the font. Too hard to read. Style is nice though.

PS. I miss Ciaran :P

I was expecting something about the Old English font, it is part of the Anglo Saxon type theme, but I'm sure I can change it to something a bit more readable for all the non British players.
BTW, what is "PS. I miss Ciaran"
What about the map look and gameplay, I think if I can get quick valuable feedback for this, I can get it live very soon?
I think having same initial letters helps with not having to give the regions names.

It's awesome, but the font has to go - sorry :(

It's just really hard to read. I still say connect Dark to Obi instead of Dark to Oswine to make red a more traditional +2 region, with just the two borders.

Also this would be the first map where a 2 border 4 territory +2 region would be right in the middle of everything, it would be awesome, and hotly contested all game. Might want to beta it both ways and see what plays better.

I liked the look of just the numbers in the second to last version, but if that's the same font as the last version's text, then the first letters are just too busy for their size.
aeronautic wrote:
Yes I will change that connection, I must have missed this suggestion previously. LMFAO, the font must be really unreadable as it is Harke & Odi. I will change it now. No, I really like your suggestion and will go with that, I was always looking for an edge on this map and I think you just found it!

You will still need to give them names, so you can register them in the database, but I have to recognise that the way you chose they are easier to find, and to name. Naming a region K, M or C also looks weird, in my opinion (Player received 5 troops for holding K/Region K.) Well, you can name them with another name starting with that letter.

What you could put on Old English are the numbers on the minimap. That other font doesn't fit the map.

Ciaran is just a Gaelic name that I thought it could have been on the map... Can't make a proper difference between Anglo Saxon and Gaelic though, so I'm sorry if I'm offending someone. I have experience doing so, as I had to divide the Balkan Peninsula somehow to make it Risk-playable :S

And I can't help you with the part of getting live. You will have to wait Fendi to analyze your map!

EDIT: Reading what cbt said... I think it's not fair to give a single region 2 borders (besides the obvious one). Maybe Oswald to Dudley and Chad instead of Ditte and Cenhelm? Will that ruin the fun?

But you know me, I don't just critique without some assistance or suggestions. I see you want some sort of Gothic European kind of font.
