Long, technical version: we have several workers on our server taking care of sending mails. The workers all crashed due to the server running out of memory, and the supervisor that takes care of restarting the workers in that case also crashed. This means we were queueing emails, but not sending them. Sorry for the bit of spam you will now be getting in your inbox. The site will be a bit slow as we work through the queue, but everything should be back to normal shortly.
