here are the game mechanics at this point - pretty well decided but still open to suggestions. (i) above is one that i am still considering the effect it would have on the game - might extent it too long?

13 - dagger - can cut a rope to prevent suffocation and hanging (but not lynching)
14 - helmet - can protect against being knocked in the head with a candlestick, lead pipe, or wrench (but you will look odd walking around on a cruise ship with a helmet on)
- Players must tell me, before the end of the day phase, which room they want to go into on the upcoming night phase. If you are in a room with another player, a PM be set up by me with all players in that room and will remain open only until the end of the phase. No chatting after the room has been closed or a letter of your name will likely be revealed.
- If you tell another player's name, I will tell you what items they have and you can steal 1 of them. If 2 players attempt to steal the same item = a random drawing will decide who gets it and the loser will pick another item if any remain. You may opt to let the other player steal 1st. You can only steal 1 item per night.
- Once in a room, you can ask me 2 questions about any other player in the room that i will answer truthfully with yes or no - - or - - you can ask me 1 yes/no question about any player. The only question (i think) that i will not answer is about a player's faction = you will have to figure that out yourself.
- You can not enter a room 2 times in a row unless you are dead.
- Players that die become ghosts and can haunt the ship. Ghosts can not talk in the game. Ghosts can pick a room to enter each night phase and listen to the chat. If the ghosts outnumber the living players in a room by more than 1= all living players in the room die. If the living players outnumber the ghosts in a room by more that 1 = ghosts give up the ghost lol and are eliminated completely from the game. Ghosts can go to the information desk instead of a room and inquire about an excursion or ask any 1 yes/no question.
- all yes/no questions should be clearly phrased like this in bold =
question 1 (or2) = xxxxxx? so that we do not waste your questions asking me about the weather
- if you do not vote in the day phase = a letter of your name will be revealed in the forum - no lynch and abstain are valid votes
- if a player is inactive for 2 consecutive phases without notice = a dead player can take their position if they know their name
phases begin and end at 21:00 server time = 3 pm central time USA and 9 pm London time, i think. at 21:00 - all PM chat should stop even if i have not notified you that the chat room is closed. Forum chat can continue 24/7. if you know you will be out of wifi range or otherwise preoccupied at some time - just let me know ahead.
the game will start in about 25 hours from now on day 1 with the friendly sail away party so there are no lynch votes allowed/required
