You can download the territory circles here: https://dominating12.com/assets/img/territories/normal-large.png

It sounds like you're planning on adding more territories and regions. It's difficult to comment on gameplay if you're current draft doesn't include all of the territories and regions you plan to use.

Most of the time people use Paint Dot Net, Gimp, or PhotoShop.

I like the idea of a map based on the Rus (vikings).
The first problem I see is way too many territories, it’s just too big.
I think it should be a medium sized map, we kinda need more maps sized between 40-50 territories.
I hope the final product looks like forests with plenty of rivers.
In fact, it would be awesome if river routs give attack paths ( ports ) as well as uncrossable blocks.
...also, Crimea should not be cut out, it’s important historically , so I like the north south east west borders in the original design.
However, I’m not sure the Rus plagued the lands as far west as indicated by the map.
, and , I think some Viking art hints should be involved in the final look.

Just for fun, why not remove 70 territories and see how it feels

Sry, read your Post to later.

I prefer very large maps. And i Play Games with 6\7+ Players and fog and capped. So i tried to make a map for this settings.

Regarding the Viking-question: the scandis WHO went east we're called warangians and they quickly assimilated with slavic Elite.

Regarding posible Design, i have some very cool ideas, gonna Post EM soon! (And No, No norse Art, its overused andcringe, i know better stuff)

Regarding rivers: yes, was thinking the Same, cuz rus formed along north-south trade rivers. But i think there are limits how many gimmicks you are allowed to add and I primarly want to Focus on the additional bonuses. But i Like this and will think how to implement this.

Here, i want this Pic as Background for the map, Just Like there are Background Pics in the USA map. This is alexander nevskiy, pained by a russian painter:
https://pantyukhin.ru/aleksandr-nevskiy/

Check out his other works.

Along it, i Plan to add orthodox symbolic, a teutonic knight and a turkic nomad.
Regarding the vikings: We already have a viking map. And overall the vikings are way too overused. They are used too often in enternainment culture, although there are other epochs in history. Also there isnt much special about them, looters, raiders, mercenary, rapists and slave traders.

And i dont Plan to Cut Out crimea. And the depicted regions are in the eastern Europe, todays wester russian, Belarus and Ukraine.

Note: the Rus were originally Norseman , but I agree by the medieval times of Nevsky they were pretty distinct, and different artistically. (Norse culture of course was far more rich and wise than the brutality of their pirates{vikings] would suggest)
Since I’m filling this space, I might as well reiterate we need more medium maps, but I wish you luck in your gargantuan.

gameplay advice.
i've found that the best way to work on a maps gameplay is to sort out where the capitals go from 2 to 9 players. although you probably don't play capitals, it still actually helps with a balanced map. you might find you could add a territory/connection/impassble somewhere
First critiques
it is a vertical map which means scrolling. it doesn't bug me so much myself but i know from the critique process of the community when it was active in map feedback, that that is what would be mentioned and i would avoid it to just get everyone on board. an idea is to rotate it and then perhaps use a compass display (like in the gold coast map).
it looks like it would fit better horizontally
i like that its a theme map.

also, do you have any real map references of where this location is?

Here ist one map more, i took IT to make the teutons:
