Howdy, got a wondering... what's the format on maps in these tournaments? Seems almost like teams get a home map (or 2). If so, maybe it'd just be interesting if teams could choose that, and then get half their games on their home map and half "away" (though obviously, with so many games to start, it doesn't make it easy on you).
Yeah it seems so, that this is set up like home map games. but really i would prefer to set these up so that teams get to play as many different maps as possible. I could do that, but because it is over 250+ games to create, it would take forever. so i have resorted to creating blocks of duplicate maps/games of, 5 or 6 because there is a quick duplicate button that creates them fast in the tournament settings. It would be super easy to just make over 250 games duplicating the same map..but i dunno if players wanna do that, but maybe it would be fairer. I have recently made a wish for a random map option in the suggestion feedback thread

Sorry, got too busy playing games (wasn't I supposed to be starting a tournament!)...
Indeed, honestly I'm more a fan of seeing a ton of variety too. Ended up getting a lot of different maps in the first tourny, but more duplicates in this one, which is what made me bring it up. But not too worried about it whatever way we do it :-)
The one map type I've found less interesting for the tournament so far are the fully symmetric ones. Namely: Anchor Bay. Even worse, it's got so many connections. So basically it becomes: who gets more dice to get a lead. I enjoy the complex strategy many maps bring, and pairs only further enhances. A few medium maps have been reasonable. But, yeah, large wouldn't be great really. Maybe a one or two per team just to add some variety, but certainly not interested in a bunch of those maps, as they'd just make it very likely things are decided by initial setup (mainly who goes first, in general).
I'll wait a couple days to make sure everything is in order for our team before signing up, but love the tournament. And don't mind any maps, just hopefully not too many of one type.
