There is, and it is currently in limited beta, so team games can only be made by a certain group of members ;)

JUST PLAYED MY FIRST LIVE TEAM GAME AND NOT HAPPY WITH THE WAY IT IS SET UP. The third player in the game gets screwed...

http://www.dominating12.com/?cmd=game&sec=play&id=343196#chat-box

There needs to be an implementation of the delayed start of 60-120 seconds so the third player that joins has the chance to make a decision if he/she wants to play with the person who joined 4th.

This is a huge flaw and is a bigger point grab then a unranked player. I WILL NEVER be playing a team game in the live setting until this is addressed, or the game is pass worded so you can invite your own choice for a team mate in.

PLEASE FIX THIS GAME FLAW

If you are so picky about your teammate then you should join last.

I love how you sit and hate the fact player hid their actually playing strength but when i watch the team games i see nothing but the top players playing on the same team destroying every other team... normally because of the crap that happened in my first game.

Ill im asking is to delay the start so the third player can get at least a choice in who they play with. I do not think that is a unreasonable request.

There are different ways teams can be set up. Join order is one of the ways teams get distributed, but you can also opt for random teams or even balanced teams, which will automatically try to balance out the teams as much as possible.

Balanced teams haven't been programmed yet and ideally we will come up with a better method for choosing your teammate in addition to the join order method. But we definitely don't want a delay. That is an inelegant solution that makes the game take longer. We can do better.

Balanced teams wouldn't have helped him here since he still would have been stuck with the newbie since he has so many more points than the other two.

I think we need to either force new players to play 5 games before they can play team games that they weren't invited to or have a minimum rank of private.

I think we need a difficulty rating on the new Join menu - or at least some way to stop people with no clue what they are getting into from joining those type games. Maybe just make same time bright red and bold, same for team? I don't know - they have all the info right there on the join menu. So I don't know what else you could do from that aspect.

As for Dferg, yeah that sucks. But I have refused to join second to last about 10 times because of that. If teams are in a set order by joining, then I could see an option for the second to last player to leave - not just for a n00b joining, but what if it's a player they don't like, or speak different languages? If it's random, then it's random. The biggest point is there is no way in h*** I would play same time team game without a password and knowing for sure who my partner is. It's suicide.

This is getting very long, but had another idea. Add a language preference so random team assignments could take that into account maybe?

cbt, I had to play an stt using a translator and it went fine... really not that bad. noob-rogues joining IS a real problem though... BETA and 4960epic were forced to go 2-3 against me, Votazap, and JamesKer1, which frankly cost them the game.

CBT, you wouldn't play a same time team game anyways. :) lol

One thing that is absolutely needed is a practice feature for new game types. I really want to try these out and especially get good at them, but not at the expense of a month of points. Or even more embarrassing, a huge dip in my record against Ultras who got to sharpen his teeth with Beta on noobs for weeks :)

Point is, we've needed a practice mode for a long time. This just emphasizes that need. I really want to play these games, but because I started a week later, I have to get slaughtered for a dozen of them? No thanks, just means I won't ever play them.

I know cbt. If you like me and BETA can teach you a thing or two without slaughtering you a dozen times... :)

Yes, we do need a practice mode. :P
