To react on Cireon's post: there is also a 3rd thing ranks count for: strategie.
Vexer seems to love using manipulation in his chat, but for some reason he dislikes ppl using manipulation in their ranks.
Some ppl manipulate newbies, by staying basic or private.
Others manipulate better players by ranking up after winning a big game (with pure luck of course, no skill involved, don't pay attention to me), but not their top rank, but one below, possibly tricking them into underestimating them.
Risk is about strategy, not only on the board, but also in the metagame, like chatting or ranking.
Which is, again, why I dislike automatic ranking.
I do not mind less token cost however (as i agree that it does require alot skill to get a high rank in 200 games, also luck, but mostly skill )
