The Introductions Thread

Well, since it hasn't been done yet, I'd think this is a good way for testers to get to know each other a bit better. Tell a little about yourself and how you came to be here.

I'm from Portland, OR and I'm 19 years of age.

I have been a great strategist ever since I was young and playing everything from board games like Risk and Stratego to computer games like the Warcraft and Civilization series. Turns out when I got involved in playing the game of global domination online, that I was actually pretty crappy.

Hopefully, my time here at DXII will turn me into a better player, but what I'm most looking for is an enjoyable and thoughtful community, for lack of one elsewhere. (hint hint) But from the way things are going, we may get that here and more.

So tell me about yourselves.

I'm 25 from California and Kentucky, moved when I was 13. I now live in Thailand and plan on moving to Korea in March.

I used to play Risk with friends and complain about the luck, and play Stratego with my dad and cry when I lost. Civilization III was the best one they made and I still play it.

I liked the idea of Risk online but other sites just weren't run the way I thought they should be, so I started this site.

I'm an 18 year old college kid and part time digital artist.

I got into risk playing it with my family a long time ago. Then I started playing Risk online. I met 4myGod on another site and now I'm helping out here.

I'm also and 18 year old college kid and although I'm majoring in physics, I know more about computers and programming than most actual computer programmers.

I also got into risk playing with my family, and I think wca has introduced me to both the last site he mentioned and this one, so here I am trying to help make this one better than the other.

18 years old, just about to do my final exams for school. I get around by living off my parents, and I don't know a whole lot about doing things in computers, but I really want to learn how to program (though I might just be bored of it, lulz).

I plan on going to university in two years (next year is a gap year from school and to get a job, make some awesome new friends and move out), and do development studies, where I will major in sustaining environment or sociology and anthropology.

I'm 20, majoring in psychology. Mmmm I like strategy games Webnet introduced me to this site, so I'm from SC-Source

I'm 24 from Kentucky. Been friends with 4MyGod for a long time, I've known him since high school. I'm one of the founders of Starcraft-Source.com, part of the Gamer-Source network.

I never played online Risk until I got a link to this site....

I'm Rich from Kansas (USA) but currently living in Thailand and that's how I met 4MyGod. I used to be a farm and ranch kid, grew up a cowboy but then got into computers for the money. I used to do a lot of programming but am trying to change careers and right now I do many things. I like strategy games but hadn't been able to play so much lately and am having fun with this. My buddies and I used to play 'Rail Baron' all night back in the USA, did any of you ever try that one? I still play Civilization myself.

I am 42 freakin' years old...but I don't feel like it!

Well, sorry. I was tired. So... full story...

I've been playing real Risk with sfhbballnut for years, and then he, skanska, wca and some other people got me into that other site that's not nearly as awesome. I'm not very good, but I enjoy playing. Now I'm in college studying Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science. In my free time, I fence and play ultimate(sometimes), computer games, and baritone.

Not much of a story, but it's a little more descriptive.

I'm Cory, recently moved to Houston from Oklahoma (Texas is better). I'm 22 taking a break from college to figure out what I want to do with my life Growing up my father, brothers and I used to play risk all night and other strategy games like Axis and Allies, cant forget monopoly. In my free time I play guitar, video games, go fishing, watch movies or have a cook out with the family. Im not even sure how I found this site, but im glad a did .
