Well, i could think really hard, and say that if half of them are boys, that doesnt automatically means that the other half are not boys.
In other words: the woman had at most 3 girls.
Though i sill like my first answer better: her husband was a man, together they had 6 children (3 boys 3 girls) and since no man is ever a real grown-up (so still a child), and he defenitely was hers, she would have 7 children, half of which are boys.
