Hey guys! Just curious who owns the website now and who is working on it?

I had originally built it and sold it a long long time ago to a guy in Australia I believe. After that I thought I heard he either sold it or gave it to someone and at some point it belonged to a community of people. Just curious where it's at now and how it's all going.

hey 4myGod.
The listed owner is @Fendi, who has owned it since I have joined. 10+ years. I believe it was a partnered ownership before Fendi took it over.
Before that, I had assumed it was you. It'd be interesting to know more of the history of the site, and why the name. I had some discussions with Vexer and he told me the site was created with something to do with your missionary work.
Main programmer at that time (10 years ago) was @Vexer, (now inactive) aswell as @Cireon, @Matty who worked on the re-write, and currently still maintain the site.

That's awesome! Fendi way to go!

I created the site originally after playing conquerclub.com and thinking it could be done better. I built it with some PHP MVC framework my friend made at the time as I was new to programming. I heard it was migrated to either codeigniter or laravel which would have been a smart move. :P

The name indeed had something to do with me being Christian. I'm quite surprised people knew that about the name. I was really starting to grow in my relationship with God at the time and so I really liked the number 12 (12 tribes of Israel, 12 disciples) and so when I couldn't find an available domain name that I liked I decided to try to incorporate 12 into the name somehow. So in my head I thought, hey this can be like the top 12 risk players, the Dominating 12. And we can have this like monthly or something challenge to find out who the top 12 are each month like a leaderboard. Adding numbers to a domain name almost always makes it available, so then I was able to just choose any hardcore word before it that I wanted, thus "Dominating" was chosen.

I started working on the game when I was in Bangkok, Thailand. At the time I was questioning why Christians like myself were so into building up our own kingdoms on earth, like getting big houses, hefty retirement funds, etc. instead of spending our lives serving Jesus. If you are a Christian I'm sure you can think of the same verses I could that caused these thoughts, "don't worry about tomorrow..." etc.

So I wanted to test it out so I thought to move to a country I was completely unfamiliar with. At the time I thought it was a 3rd world country based on a few conversations I had when I was in the military. I also had friends from there who were missionaries in Thailand. I wasn't a missionary at the time, I was in Thailand for my gf at the time. So I decided to leave everything behind and move to South Korea (definitely not 3rd world) and volunteer at a church there teaching English. That's where I ended up "finishing" the website.

I was staying at the church and teaching English a few hours each day. The rest of the time I was working on the game, doing some Bible study, praying, or desparately trying to find American food near the church. :P

I couldn't handle self-discipline though at the time, maybe my ADD. So having a game site where people were relying on me to continue to grow it was becoming very overwhelming, and there was absolutely no financial gain from the site. I had plans for it but they seemed very far away. I felt like I was letting people down each week or month that I didn't produce new content. Eventually I thought it would be better to sell the website to someone who could make more of it. I found a guy from Australia who was getting into programming if I remember correctly and sold it to him for like $500.

After that I'm not completely sure how things went down. I heard he didn't really get into it (perhaps my beginner code was too hard to iterate on lol). Fendi was arround since almost the beginning I believe. She should know everything. Perhaps he gave it to her when he was looking to get out of it.
