So, in an effort to grow DXII's mafia community I'm gonna start another beginner mafia game. Roles will be approximately the same as Game I, but don't count on it!!! I will make adjustments! So, you may be wondering, what is mafia?
Mafia is an educated guessing game of large proportions. There tend to be two factions named mafia and village or town. Each side seeks to eliminate the other to win. There are two phases, Day and Night. Day is when the town votes on who to lynch, and night is when Night Actions and the mafia kill occur. The mafia represents a informed minority. They know who each other are, and what powers the other mafia have. The town represents an uninformed majority. They have no idea who is town and who is mafia. The town can lynch someone every Day phase to try to eliminate the mafia. The mafia, however, has a kill every night, and since they know who they themselves are, by process of elimination, they will always hit a townie.
You may be wondering, isn't the town just taking a shot in the dark every day? No, since in most games, like this one, they have villagers with 'roles.' Roles are something usable in either Night or Day phases, most often during night. They allow the person wielding them to do something which affects the game, such as guard someone from a kill, reveal who someone is, kill someone, et cetera.
Essentially, the winning strategy for the town is to consolidate a leadership and 'clean' villagers one by one using the Inspector, a role which shows its target's full Role PM, which describes what faction a user is affiliated with and what powers or actions he/she has. The mafia, however, attempt to disrupt this by getting themselves 'cleaned' as villagers and undermining the town from within. If this interests you at all, sign up below!
Please do not sign up if you have played in more than two DXII mafia games already. Exceptions can be made. I will; however, need coaches for both sides.
Signups will close on 10/1/14, or whenever the game starts. I will need 12 players, and 2 coaches for each side.
