Issue

So like, in math class, I have this totally mean teacher named Ms. Digneo. She is like soooooo mean.... she makes everyone dread math core (we use core instead of periods.) In the middle of class, my friend sitting next to me accidentally started his phone. In his pocket, Siri turned on. Ms. Digneo knew it was him, but for some reason she wrote up three people! Me, Ethan (the guy whose phone went off), and the guy sitting across from me named Jack. A write up is like a strike. Three strikes, and you get an after school detention! Wtf? Ethan's phone goes off and I get written up??!?!?!!?? Who's right? Me, or Digneo? Thanks, Urgullll

It depends if you laughed when the phone ringed. If so Ms. Digneo supposed you to be accomplice. Teachers feel derided in those situation and they start to punish everybody. I had been accused unfairly too. It can happens.

Oh Adonai Now she's making things up. So yes, in the e-mail, she [i]claims[/i] I was "playing" around; that's not true; she's mistaken; the guys who I'm [i]assigned[/i] to sit next to say seriously funny stuff, and god gave me a sense of humor, so it was no sin that I may have chuckled a couple of times previous to the write-up. Honestly! She went bazerk! Read the e-mail yourself: (I may have astreistked some things out; they're not curse words, they're names.) Good afternoon Mrs. *, Over the past couple of weeks, I have had to correct Josh and two other boys from his table for fooling around during class. Since I do a lot of group work, it is important for students to stay on task and focused on the problems they are trying to solve. His group is consistently being corrected for joking around and discussing topics unrelated to the math material being worked on. I issued several warnings over the past few weeks. Yesterday, as I was in the middle of teaching a lesson, Josh and the other two boys were again laughing and not focusing on what I was teaching. This obviously disrupted my instruction of the material and therefore, they each received a level 1 infraction. (Level 1 infraction is a write up.) I am hoping that the issue of this infraction will prevent this kind of behavior in the future. Please let me know if you have any questions. Or better yet, be a leader amongst your group and try to keep them focused on classwork rather than joking around. I know its important to try to fit in but they may just respect you for it in the long run...I know your teacher probably will

LOL @Syg: guess you've never seen my school then. I know I'm 'posed to "be who you choose to be, not who others choose to see"; but that's just not what my school's like. There's one kid in my class who is himself, and believe me when I say he spends 27 minutes sitting alone when we're having lunch. It's sad. (BTW don't you think that 27 minutes isn't enough lunch time? We have like 50 minute classes; it seems unfair that we have basically only one half of that to choke down our food...) @Bish: thnx 4 your suggestion man. She sees everything monochrome; she sees good or bad, nothing in the middle. She also has no emotion. How can she even be human? It's like cranking a robot to 'mean mode' 24/7.... Thanks, urgul

Teachers are human beings. That means among others that they do have feelings, they do make mistakes, and they do judge other ppl on the limited things they percieve. So just like you really.

Yeah I'm not a robot.... unlike her. Y'know, I read this article about how in Japan they litteraly invented robots that are teachers in some public schools, they look just like humans.... maybe Ms. Digneo really is a robot! She sure acts like one.... (Oh by the way did you read the e-mail. She totally changed for the reason she [i]actually[/i] wrote me up (cell phone incident) to this whole thing about 'I was fooling around'. She blatantly lied to my parents. I never knew robots lie....)

My suggestion was a bit joking. But not so much. I mean, teachers are not robots, and this is why sometimes they do something wrong and they can fail on judge you and your mates. If you want to fight against the teacher you have few chances to win, it's better to collaborate. You received an unfair write-up. Okay, that is not the end of the world. Just explain to your parents what happened. And try your best to show to Mrs Digneo that you are not a bad scholar as she thinks. Show her that you are a serious scholar. Basically this is my suggestion and Sygma's too. By the way I have never loved the school (in general) nor the teachers. But the school is important because it helps you to face the life. A write-up is a little thing, during your life you might suffer greater injustices. Don't be angry, live with them, and do your best.
