The map just doesn't look old. Think black, white, grey, washed out oranges and browns. The background should be a faded out orange instead of beige and the territories should have very minimal colour. The borders seem too busy. I would think a map of this date would have a little more straight forwardness to the borders -not bold- just maybe a little less accurate.

Excellent improvement! I'm not so sure it needs more colour but possibly a little more of a darker haze around the borders. Not each territory, just the group. Or maybe I'm wrong and instead of a darker haze around the borders maybe a more faded look inside the interior.

I like the background; it feels old. I also like the tone of the colours but they don't feel worn in enough. Does that make any sense? Is there a way to give the coloured areas the same splotchy feel you have in the background?

Definitely looks better now. Not saying I will suddenly play this, but I think it is definitely an improvement on the style. Would it make sense and be fun to make some of the connections over the Channel be one-way? Of course the invasion was mainly one-way, but it might add some interesting things to this map, though it will also make it more complicated and probably harder to balance and figure out caps.

Really like the change Thorpe!

Now I'm not sure how you might fix this, but cutting off the map so suddenly with the text on the bottom is visually distracting. Maybe others have ideas?

The problem is that dnag mini map. How about the land being faded there, from the cut-off point...or just mak it bigger and move some things around. I did not like the way the mini was on the map when it was first giving to me.

Cireon I had the same idea...?

Well we usually don't do this, but might this be a good time for a color-key instead of a mini map?

Lol, did you actually look at the colours of the regions?

Haha, I thought it was obvious they would have to be changed a bit to make it work ;)
it was just a thought though.
