i know game 8 is a bit unfair but it has to be there. if you have everyone just go to the finals the would complain that they did not get to use there second life, making the whole system unfair rather than just game 8. also game 8 is also not all a sacrificing game. whoever gets 1st and 4th is crucial. 1st gets an advantage for the final while 4th has to play another game and win if he/she wants to be in the finals. also game 9 is basically the dark horse game. you have the players who lost the first round but then rallied back to get to the semifinals.

as for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th positioning, that is decided by who is eliminated first. i am using this for 2 very good reasons. 1: the first round will be the most uneven, but after everyone gets to there place in round 2 we will have some darn even matches, and at the same time giving everyone of every rank a chance to win. 2: it helps the pace of the tournament. for exp, say game 1 & 2 each have only 2 players left. the people who are already out can just advance to the next game (game 5) instead of waiting for the entire game to finish.

OK, it's ready.
Here my proposal http://oi45.tinypic.com/6h5i6v.jpg
winner paths are green, loser paths are red.

Games 1 to 7 are the same of marcoxa's scheme.
Game 8 as been turned in a normal play-to-win game.
Game 9 as been turned in a special 6 players game.

Well, I used some names from my fancy. You can use better english names or don't use any.

Every decision about the system will be well accepted by me.

My main problem is that in a (4p) risk game usually there is one person that kills all others.
The order in which he does that is not always the weakest (worst) player first, and then up to the betters. It also depends greatly on the path chosen for example.

So its not a very bad choice of 1-4, but its not good enough to decide to kick out the nr 4, and keep 1-3
(for example, a very bad player could be protected by a very good player. - now the winner would have to kill the very good player first, before he can kill the very bad player).

@Bishop there is a big problem with your chart. this is not a true double elimination tourny chart. on game 9 its possible for not only one but two people to continue to the finals having already lost twice. that is a big problem.

i will make sure we are happy with the chart before we start.

@matty yes i realize that it won't always be 100% right but its alot closer than just choosing a random game for each player.

Yes, it good for choosing who can go to what game.
But I think it's not good for deciding who is eliminated.

it dosint. if you don't come in 1st you lost. the other 2nd 3rd and 4th placse is only to determine were your next game will be, provided you still have a life left.
