It would be more fair, but now that is part of those games. That is a strategy employed by all players.
Just like the glitches are now used as part of the game. If someone takes over a nearby territory, it is now strategic to take it over before they move their troops to steal their fortify. It's a glitch, but now part of the game.
Also, running out of time skipping the next turn has added to the game another dimension. You don't want to risk running out of time, because the glitch can skip your turn. BUT - if you run out of time, then you start at the same time as your opponent next turn, no need to wait for them to start before you can start. If you end turn AFTER they end turn, then they get a jump on you.
So there is a subset of rules, strategies, and gameplay that have developed from all these subtle details of turn timing for same time games. If you change it, it will completely change how the elite same time game players play. David, Spartakus, etc. It would be a completely different game.
I suggested earlier that same time games should not have a start turn, or end turn button at all. They should be 3 minute turns (or 2 minute) everyone starting and ending together no matter what. But now I realize there is an art to playing the timing as its own game. Not sure how taking away extra time, or evening the start times out for live games would be received by the regular same time players.
