Improved Performance:
Since the last news post several things have been optimized. It used to take about 10 seconds to load a forum page or the members list. Now it takes about a second.
Attack speed was also improved significantly.

3 minute turns:
Now that the attacks are faster and Matty has the extra time button fully implemented we decided to allow 3 minute turns. We strongly suggest that you only use them when the server is not maxed out unless it's a 2 player game in which case it probably won't matter. Since most players are used to 5 minute turns and not all players know to look at the red timer before joining the game in order to see how long the turns will be, if you choose 3 minute turns, please say so in the chat.
If you make a mistake and choose 3 minute turns when the server is max out and it's not enough time, message a moderator who is online and ask them to change the turn time. In the future Matty will create a vote option which will allow all the players to vote to change the turn time. You will also be able to vote to end the game or change the game to Long Term.

Staff Changes:
Crystal is now an assistant Admin. Her new abilities are issuing official strikes (warnings), banning members from chat, and returning points. The only difference between an Admin and an Assistant Admin is that assistants don't yet have access to the database, which means they can't fix glitches.
MAPS has volunteered and been accepted as a Moderator. Thank you MAPS.

New Notes Tab:
There is now a tab next to the game log where you can leave notes in your games to remind you what strategy you were going to use. This is mostly useful for long term games.
If you are using Chrome, you'll need to do a full refresh (CTRL + F5) two times quickly in a row in order for it to display correctly. With other browsers one CTRL + F5 should do the trick.

More about the Extra Time Button:
There have been reports of players abusing the extra time button to make their opponents wait as revenge. The implementation has been changed so that you only start out the game with 1 use and in live games you get a new use every 10 rounds.
We now have the ability to ban members from using the extra time button if they abuse it. So please report them to Fendi and Crystal.
What's Next:
The Capped Cards game option is about half way done. A resign button will be added after that is done. The Korea - Japan map will be released after the capitals positions are finalized. The same goes for the Central America map and Ancient Realm Map.
We desperately need more help with choosing capitals positions. We have a back log of finished maps that are waiting on them. The problem is that you have to be quite skilled in order to choose satisfactory positions. Please check out the map creation forum thread for the map you would like to help with.
