Rule Change
For those of you who do not know, there has been a discussion going on about whether or not you should be able to turn in cards after defeating a player even if you don't have 5 cards. You can find the forum thread here:
http://www.dominating12.com/forum/?cmd=topic&id=631
As of right now the rule has been changed to allow the trading in of cards after defeating a player no matter how many cards you have as long as you have a set. This rule change is on a trial basis for at least 30 days. If you have any arguments for or against, please voice them in that forum thread.
There are several reasons for the change. One, it's more user friendly. New players to the site submit bug reports when they can't turn in after a kill because they only have 3-4 cards because they expected it to work differently. Two, the original 1959 rules were set up this way. Three, hopefully the rule change will mean less never ending games.
If you experience any bugs relating to turning in cards after a kill please message either Matty, Fendi, or Vexer as soon as you can.
Point Range Limited Games
Ever wanted to only play players with a certain amount of points? Well now you can if you are a paid premium member. You can set a minimum and a maximum amount of points required to join the game. For example you can set the game up so that only players with between 1500 and 2000 points can join.
We decided to make this a premium member only feature because we need to encourage members to support the site. We have server bills to pay and we still are paying out much more each month than we are bringing in.
New Assistant Cartographer
The_Bishop has volunteered his services to the Cartography Department. He will be focusing on evaluating gameplay and capitals placement.
New Maps
San Francisco and New York City... who knew city's would make such great maps? If you see Leedog, please thank him for sticking in there on the New York City map and finishing it. It was a long and hard road but the map turned out amazing.
Card Territory Locator
Thanks to Matty you can now click on your cards and it will show you on the map where they are. You may have to do a full browser refresh to see the change. (Ctrl + F5)
Game Log Update
The game log now tells you how many troops you killed and how many you lost when you conquer a territory. Thanks again for Matty.
