How about a new type of fog game.

You can only see everyone around you. (regular fog)

Extra: you can see all territories with the amount of armies on it, but no colour.

Thoughts?

Only issue is you can likely tell if someone has a region. If you notice a region has 1's but a stronger border. Or if it has even numbers with larger borders, etc.

True, but still:
- you don't (always) know who owns the region
- you can fake to (not) have a region as well

Yes, unless you were in the region to start it might make it hard to know who has it. But, you could read the map and see someone does, then notice your next turn that someone went on a killing spree and likely deduce who it is. Not saying I don't like it and wouldn't play it, I just think if you are smart and a good player you can easily take advantage of even the limited showing.
