If you look at this post, right next to the Edit link it shows my member name, as well as immediately to the left of it. Why is it shown twice?

If you have an avatar the one on the left will be lower and perhaps harder to see, for those people who want to just quickly read and see who wrote it they can just look at the one right above the text.

Then you should put the member name above it, because it's currently showing duplicated data.

That's fine. Duplicate data is ok, because it allows quick viewing of the page. The name on the left will have the rank next to it as well. For those who want to see more about the person can look to their left, for those who want a quick read can just scan the middle.

It's pointless though when moving your member name above the avatar prevents it from needing to be there in the first place.

And duplicate data is bad, it's more clutter for a reader to have to sort through when reading the forums or any web site.

Fix this - it's horrible ^_^

I also think it would be nice if there was more consistency between member profiles on the left side that have an avatar and some don't. IE - the member name "moves" based on if you have the avatar.... that's much more important information than anything else - even an avatar.
