Sooo on the old site the attack interface consisted of 1 bar on the top, with the attack button and all the previous/end phase buttons and stuff.
Some people said that it wasn't always clear what phase we were in, so we quickly made a new design, using two bars.
It's a lot more functional and clear, this way, which is good.
However, it is also ugly, and that's bad.
I've been thinking a bit about how to improve it, and I came up with something, but I'm still not very convinced, so... do you guys have ideas?

If you have ideas, by far the most effective way to show them is by making an ugly paint mockup what I have done. It's much easier that way, words are hard.
