Forum letters colored

Hello programers ,I was thinking that can be good to colored FORUMS ,something like is whit (how to start playing ) ,bcause im pretty sure that manny of players really dont know that forum exist,can be colored no matter which color ,what you like ,red,blue ...just to be clear and better overview.

I think this is a good idea, I also think it is true that a lot of people don't know where or what the forums are. I think Orange would be a good colour, not too different to "How to start playing" and therefore not cheesy. Especially now that there's a Q&A in the forum, we need to get players to go there with their questions instead of clogging up the LL chat with the same question that has been answered 100 times.

My problem with this suggestion is that we should also colour Information then, because too many members don't realise that half of the questions they ask are in a FAQ somewhere in that information page (did you?). And while we are at it, why not colour the Who's online list and player ranks? Or, once it's redone properly, why not colour the maps browser? Ppl should know after all that it's there... In short: ppl don't care about the forum, or the time it takes to find a topic. That's why they ask it in a chat lobby. Alternative: they don't really care enough about the answer to their question to search for it. In my opinion, a way better way to solve this is to have properly formatted links. For example: [i][game=1337][/i] resolves to [i][url=http://www.dominating12.com/?cmd=1337]Game 1337[/url][/i] [i][user=1003][/i] resolves to [i][url=http://www.dominating12.com/?cmd=member&sec=profile&act=view&id=1003]Fendi[/url][/i]. [i][topic=2318][/i] resolves to [i][url=http://www.dominating12.com/forum/?cmd=topic&id=2318&page=1#post-36008]Forum - General - Forum letters colored[/url][/i] Something like that - then you can just answer lobby questions with a link to the q/a forum. That way they'll learn that there is a forum better than to show it in yellow (orange, w/e).

Yes, completely agree with Matty. It's one very nice and simple solution (to use, don't know if to implement).

I would have to code those formatted texts into the BB-code parser. I could do it fairly easily, but I think it's easier to include it in the rewrite, so we can think about how to make it as user friendly as possible. That is easier than implementing something right now, only to have to replace it in a few months.

What Cireon sais, it's not done yet, but right now it's messy to do it.
