I'm sure there already Greek maps but this a rough draft I made. I"m gonna make the actual map on photoshop not paint haha. I used various maps to find good territories, regions city-states and tribes. I know there will be some nit pickers out there but remember this map represents roughly 500-350 BC and the territories are subjective! But I need help deciding their troop value. I've got (Orange) Crete 2, (Purple) Thrace 2, (Brown) North Aegean Islands 2,(Red)Peloponnese 3, (White) South Aegean Islands 3, (Yellow) Asia-Minor 3, (Blue) Central Greece 5, (Green) Northern Greece 5. What do you think?

I made RISK: WEST INDIES map last year. I'ts on this forum somewhere. Unfortunately I was already finishing it to have it printed and it did not meet the requirements of this site. I Turned out awesome though, and I think this map moght be better once I make it on photoshop.

It's small, but I could see this become a good map.

44 territories with 8 regions. This isn't going to be the actual image size, it will be bigger.

There's a formula from Vexer somewhere.

I don't see why one of the aegians has +3 and the other +2, both should have +2 I think and a border less (remove a connection).

Well, if you want ppl to go for the regions and keep them that is.

The rest seems fair in a quick look.

Welcome back JS243.

I had tried to find out what happened with the west indies project and found that you had turned it into a risk board, well done. looks cool, i'd like to try it myself in the future.

I had a little play around with the west indies map a while ago trying to add a theme for it, as a theme is now a requirement for maps on D12 now, but got a bit stumped on it. So consider the theme you are going for in this new one.

Your West Indies thread had some interest before you disappeared.

Good luck with this one, it looks like a fun geography to play with. aeronautic (head cartographer) will be active soon and will give you some more information to work with. gl

Good detective work Hoodlum, you found me! I was already in the final stages of making my board game when I discovered D12. Unfortunately the requirements were really strict on this site and it was asking too much work to make it fit the rules so I didn't bother. But the West Indies map plays great! It has a good flow for 3-4 players. I'm hoping my Ancient Greece map works out. I want it to work for 4-5 players or at least give weaker players a chance to stick around and not get eliminated so quickly. I like your East Indies map. I'm glad I could help you out.

Awesome version of the west indies too! I had considered the route from Jamaica to Honduras or Nicaragua. How does it play online?

Had an idea for a Trojan War map, never did get started on it. Here's some nice references though.

(the wine region map basically takes care of everything you'd need for the achaean side of things. A wine map for cripes sake...)

I hadn't played it on the PC yet. btw, here is a Game Risk map editor program that you might be interested in to help with creating maps. I made a tutorial on how to use it.

Not everyones map is going to make the cut on D12, but you can still turn your idea and efforts into a playable game against the computer or family. Cartographers can test their creations gameplay.

There are options to create mission games, and standard risk. You can play with any map.

Here's a video tutorial of me turning a map I made into a risk game. Excuse the repetitive music.
Risk Map Editor Video Tutorial (click to show)

Get these steps ready.
1. Download the risk map editor. Free Map Editor program
2. Have a map ready, any map
3. Have Continent (Region) names ready / aswell as Country names
4. Follow the video tutorial. (Sorry it's long and the music is repetitive)

YOUR READY TO PLAY!

Hmmm still trying to figure out the troop values. What if I do Crete (orange)1, Thrace (purple)1, South Aegean Islands (white)2, North Aegean Islands (brown)2, Peloponnese (red)3, Asia-Minor (yellow)3, Central Greece (blue) 4 and Northern Greece (green) 4. Your thoughts?
