Need More Players!

We recently added the ability to see how many people a player has referred to the site in the player's profile. I'm quite surprised to see how many players have referred 0. Matty has recently updated the account creation process making it more straight forward and understandable. We have made numerous efficiency improvements. The server is humming along just fine most of the time these days. I think we could add about 500 more members before we need to upgrade the server. So show your friends at school, tell your co-workers. Post a link to us on your facebook page (Why haven't you yet? The site is ready). Most importantly encourage other players to spread the word. Most players don't read the forums so maybe put a link to this post in your game chat. And please, do everyone a favor and explain to them the site's rules; and recommend they use Firefox or Chrome on the site if they want a smoother experience. In addition we could use some tools to help advertise the site. What we need most is a youtube video showing how to play a game. The video should start with the home page and show you navigating to the live game lobby, entering a game, clicking join, waiting (put words on the screen telling them they need to wait, not 8 minutes of actually waiting), and clicking the still here button. Then show the game beginning, explain turn order, click begin turn, place, make 1 attack, fortify, then explain that you have to wait until it's your turn again. The video can't be made by pointing your cell phone at the screen. We need something that looks professional so you need to use some screen capturing software. 720p is preferred. So does anyone know how to make one of these vids? We can offer 1 year of free premium if you can produce a quality video that we can link to. Can anyone think of other ways to advertise the site or other tools that can be created to advertise the site?

i have refered many.. i just didnt tell them to use me as a refferal.. lol i have 18k tokens dont need any more. I play pogo risk sometimes and advertize d12. I Also advertize other random sites

The greatest pre of referrals is that you see their finished games (in the beginning :))

I am slowly working on a tutorial video (there are some complications I need to take care of first) but if you think you can make one faster then please say so. Our youtube page is set up, it just needs some few tweaks here and there before I post it. @marcoxa, I am running the facebook page.

ok, the only thing is i know matty is in the middle of redesigning the create game page. should i wait for him to finish so the video will still be current?

To my knowledge, the redesign of creating games page wont effect how people join games. It will still be the same, Click enter, and Join.

On the topic of referrals: As a new player, getting tokens for a referral is nice. But as you start to reach 500 games played... tokens become less relevant. Since tokens are no longer required to buy maps, ranks have climbed moire quickly and tokens have become basically worthless to players who have been here for over a year. Should tokens be worth 5 instead of 20 making them more valuable? Should tokens be used to get some extra bonus you could purchase with them? Example: 5,000 tokens allows you to purchase a troop pack... you get 10 extra men to be used in a game of your choice. 10,000 tokens gets you the Pearl Harbor map or 20,000 tokens gets you sniper medal? Advertising: The best advertising, is free advertising. It's fine to have a Facebook page, but someone actually needs to run it and keep it updated with current posts (new maps/tournaments)... same with Twitter and Youtube. Also, posting links to D-12 in online gaming forum's comment sections could help with free advertising. The longer it takes to achieve the games main goal, the longer people will play to try to achieve it. It would be a good thing though, if there were other goals to try to achieve here at D-12 other than rank.

Extra troops however are extremely unfair, especially in two player games. With that I might lure Fendi in a two player game, use 10 extra troops and own... I've only played 222 games, but even with 8 referrals I am short in tokens at the moment :)
