The main problem is that when you want to win a game, you calculate on normal dice.
So if you have better dice, it doesnt matter at all.
However, if you have bad dice, then it does matter.

What bothers me is how many times I roll 1 1 1, or how often I will roll 6 6 5 and the opponent rolls 6 6

also I find that the odd increase if you attack a few times then attack somewhere else and return attacking the original territory, and how fast you click the ATTACK button, if I spam my button and it attacks 5 or 6 takes back to back I will loose more often then if I am slow and take a pause in between the button clicks...

My girlfriend and I both play and have been experimenting with the dice rolls....

My dice have been horrible too!
They other day someone attacked my capital, (38,) With 30, 30!!!!
And guess who won... with 7 to spear?
Yup, you guessed it the other player.
Guess who won that game?
Yup, you guessed it, the other player.
Deathmatches, it seems like I win 'bout 1/3 of the time. And that’s normal for me, after all I ain't the best risk player, but I haven’t won a capital game, for as long as I can remember!
I swear every single freak'n time, my freak'n capital gets taken by the third, or forth turn!
Like one time, someone attacked my capital with HALF of what my capital had, and they won!!!!
I give up on capitals, it's official...
Plus, I can't seem to up my rank.... My older brother agrees... Once you get to private first class, you just either drop back down, or stay there, its literally IMPOSSIBLE to go higher.

What you all are describing is normal and expected if you know anything about probability and randomness.

And Kitty if you want to rank up then play some 8-9 player long term deathmatches and win. About 1/4 of my points are from games like that.

I have recently started playing a dice based game in real life (unfortunately, its not risk) and I see no difference t in the probability. In fact, they are sometimes much worse than the ones I roll on the site, maybe my hands are not used to rolling dice, maybe the dice I use are weird but the odds are pretty much the same.
That has really put my mind at ease because now I know bad dice can happen on the site and in real life. I know some people may not agree with me, but if you are feeling unsure of the dice that we use here then pick up some dice and start rolling them until you have rolled as many times as you have done on the site, then you will see that the difference is not that big.

It is also easy to forget all the times you have had amazing dice, whether it was attacking dice or defence dice because the thought of having a sure win stolen from us occupy our mind more. So next time you want to complain about the dice, just think of the time when they were in your favor.

Here is a video worth watching about probabilities.

I have been playing for years on boards and am a refugee from MCommand while it undergoes changes and I have never know dice as bad as this. Major Command is far closer to board dice I have known. It is ruining the experience. I just went for a 3 with 18 troops and lost. And it is happening over and over again. Something is wrong in there. All the new players I am playing with say the same. I won't last here and neither will others if it is like this.

See vexer! Im not the only One, the defender dices are too good. They almost throw every throw a six or six five. Its so fake..

As a result of this discussion, huge tests have been taken on the dice and we compared them to real world results. The chances were well-nigh the same and thus the dice on this website are proven to be exactly the same as when you throw the dice on the table. What you are experiencing is that you only remember the bad dice, but forget about the good dice you got in the way. Vexer checked your dice as stated in the other thread and there it was proven that your dice are 1% above average, so despite some bad dice, you must also have had really good ones that together make up for an average that can be expected from this game.

Again.. attacked with 6 people against 1!!! Lost 5 troops how in the world is that possible.. this ruins this game for Sure.. damn :(

That happens 1 out of every 100 times. That's how it's possible. Get it through your thick skull.

It has happened to me in the real world when I played Risk with real dice...so I do not know how in the world it was possible but it happened...so I guess it must be possible. Maybe we need to ask the stars.

I know Vexer gets mad with the same question over and over and over and over and over...but still relax...this question will always come up...so I guess we just have to live with this Question, over and over and over................

It might be only bad luck, but last 10 games, all them lost, my attacks lead me to a rush of 160 lost-40 killed. These combined with a defense rush form people who attacks me of 60 killed-20 lost
