Okay so someone please explain how the "avoid list" works. How do I put people on it? Is it only for games I create or any games? If I have someone on my avoid list, is it a race to join long term games, whoever joins first the other is blocked?

Please give all of the details as to how this new feature works.

This feature is in the alpha stage. The programmers haven't come to an agreement yet on how it will work and there is no interface for adding to your list. Currently only admins are using it to separate players who can't place nicely together.

This is how it works currently (but it could change): A player on your avoid list cannot join a game you create. If they join a game you did not create then you are auto removed from the game to ensure you will never play that player again.

If someone can think of another way to guarantee that you will never play someone on your avoid list other than them being able to kick you out of a game you didn't create then please share. The obvious problem with it is that it can be abused. Someone could go around and kick you from all the games you joined and then leave them all. That would be very annoying.

Surely THEY should be blocked from any game you are already in regardless of if you created it or not?

The avoid list is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Just grow up and play. Use the rule, If you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all!! I am to the point that I am ready to not renew my premium and just leave the site. Clarke sat by silently for months while 2 people talked crap about him. I thought for sure that if he just didn't say anything they would finally give up and give it a rest but they continued for MONTHS. Then god forbide he finally speak up and give his side. Now the babies cant play in a game with him/me/us. All the while still running their mouths. GIVE IT A REST ALREADY!

@tramadol if you are the one who is so picky that you won't play with so and so then you should be the one who gets removed from the game. You didn't create the game so you have no right to exclude players from it.

Can't wait... I'll have a complete list of d12 suiciders

Sorry I didn't see it that way, I was thinking, I would only try to avoid a player/s who I know would team against me or commit personal/revenge attacks and or shout profanities from the roof top. In other words, a bad egg! I wouldn't be picky and exclude others for anything other than a very good reason. This is why I was surprised to hear, it would be me removed if a player had given me many nightmares and yet gets to join all the games I join and get me booted!
Vexer wrote:
@UltrasPlot There will be a limit on how many people are on your list so choose carefully.

Well tramadol, that's why I asked for better ideas. It's obviously not ideal.

Perhaps only allow anyone to have a player on an Avoid List that has been reported to admin and verified as a justified report. That way, it could be programmed not to allow that player in any game you have joined, (Fair). There is already the Report Player option to create a record of offenders. One thing could lead to the other.
Vexer wrote:
That makes extra work for admins.

How about this: if you are premium then you get the added benefit of blocking someone on your avoid list from joining even if you didn't create the game but if you are not premium then you get auto removed from the game.
tramadol wrote:
That sounds fair and another good reason to become premium!
Also, I don't think there would be many premium players Avoiding players just because they can, I believe they would consider very seriously why they would want to avoid a player or else they wouldn't be taking the site so serious by buying premium membership in the first place.
Time & collected feedback will tell if this is being abused!

I think is better that : if you are first enter in the game who create other player, that then "your avoiding player" can't join in that game, not to remove you atomaticly...rule "first come first get" .

@Spartakus, see Post #3 & Post #5 above for the same concern and the reply.

@Clarkette (Clarkess) I personally wouldn't Avoid any players unless they were dangerous to be in a game with. I wouldn't be 'That Guy'! But, I believe if the option is there it can't hurt anyone only the 'bad eggs' and that is surely a good thing. I have known Clarke a long time here and would not have bad things said about him, I could always read between the lines and knew he was a good guy!

@Staff, is this a proposal or action pending?
