Some guidance.

Hi all. I have only been a member for a month and have seen numerous games being ruined by poor decision making. I confess to having made poor decisions myself, so this is not aimed at anyone, I am also guilty of poor play.

In the interest of educating all, can we have some guidance on what would be considered poor form. Something similar in format to the rules.

I have had some very experienced players put me out of games only to benefit someone else (I suggest it would be better to have two or more fighting the largest troops rather than one!). I applaud good play, and accept that battles must be fought for the game to progress, but game after game I see implosions ruin the enjoyment of the game and hand it on a plate to someone else.

Any thoughts?

I find that happens in live games more than long term. I try not to play live unless I know the players or its 1 vs 1. You can make games with minimum point settings so you can play with more experienced players. Other than that, there's a strategy guide in the forums. If I get "noobed" during a game, I try to explain in chat why the move wasn't beneficial to either party in a nice way.

@Vexer, yes I agree it is good reading, however it is not etiquette guidelines and to find it you need to have time and motivation to do so.

I think something along side the rule would be more accessible to all and therefore, more read.

I would also suggest standard point deductions for those who break rules and/or etiquette. I have not been on this site long, but it appears quite obvious that some people believe a more disciplined approach would be beneficial.

Things like suicide should be punished with point deductions and potential short term bans for repeated offences. I would not like to see the minority that do this chase away honest players.
