Important notice about BB-codes

If you're reading this, you are probably a (frequent) user of the forums. You have always been able to use so called BB-codes in your posts on the forum which for example allow you to change the size of your text, make text bold, italic or underlined and insert images and url's.

The code that translated these codes was outdated and very inflexible. Therefore I wrote a new engine to add more flexibility and make it a lot easier to add new tags. The forums have now switched to this new engine. As an average user you will not notice a lot of difference, though there have been a few small changes in how some tags are used. The changes are described below. Note that BB-codes use square brackets ([ and ]), even though below they are written with curly brackets ({ and }).

  • {img=http://www.dominating12.com/image/skins/1/title.png } has become {img}http://www.dominating12.com/image/skins/1/title.png {/img}
  • {youtube=H7jtC8vjXw8} has become {youtube}H7jtC8vjXw8{/youtube}, but you can also use full url's as in {youtube}http://youtube.com/watch?v=H7jtC8vjXw8 {/youtube}.
  • Ordered lists changed from {list=ordered} to {list type=decimal} (but are still closed with {/list}) and list items changed from {*} to {li} and should be closed with {/li}.
These changes have been automatically made to all the existing forum posts, so nothing should be broken.

There have also been some cool additions and we will be adding some new things over the next couple of days as well, including but not limited to smileys and an easy way to link to games. I have created a complete manual to all currently existing BB-codes as well, which can be found over here.

If you encounter any problems or have any suggestions, please let me know and I will see what I can do.

Maybe the 'show spoiler' function could have a frame around, some way similar to a button, rather than 2 '+'. And also it would be nice for me to have the possibility to chose other words different from 'show spoiler'.

I don't think that would work out, because then we are (almost) back to what we had and it wasn't really clear that it was a spoiler I think. Now you actually see that there is something non-texty. I could easily remove the background, if that is what you want though...
