I wanted to get peoples opinions on Fog of War. Ideas have been brought up that the log should show the name of a territory if you just lost it, even if it's not connected. The problem is that the game won't know what you had, only what you currently have. So I can't make the game show things previously owned in the log when loading it. However perhaps for Fog of War there is no attacks, reinforcements, or moves at all?

Also, what does everyone think about the emperors/kings and capital gametypes. Will those territories be shown no matter where they are in a fog of war game or will they too be hidden in the fog?

I think that at the very least, the emperor and capital territories need to be shown to be that territory. Maybe also the number of territories, but I'm not sure about that one.

Well, of course I'm mad. It makes things a great deal more interesting.

well given that the capitals territories are fixed, you know where they are to begin with, so the only thing you wouldn't know is who owns which one. I'm neutral on weather or not the capitals should be visible in the fog, it makes sense and would probably work both ways

For the gamelog, I don't think it really needs to show much of anything, adds to the oppressive nature of the game type, leaving you with very little idea what is hidden beneath the fog

So for fog games:

We take out reinforcements, attacks, and fortifications all together. On "another site" it might show 4myGod conquered ? from ?, however here it won't even have a line for it in the log, so you can't even count the times people attack.

For territories next to yours you can see troop counts and circles.

For territories non-adjacent you cannot see anything. Is there anyone who would rather just take away the troop count but still show the color?

As for the capitals and emperors, we can show the color of the territory, but not the troop count.

Sound good? any changes?

sounds good, I like not being able to gain information from the log. I think just not being able to know anything about territories that are nonadjacent would be best, not being able to know exactly when you're finishing someone off makes for excellent gameplay.

lol, surprise, you defeated blue! Yeah, I agree, it does add to the gameplay, I would like to get fog of war up asap as well, I loved playing it on "the other site."
