Trouble Uploading Avatar

I tried uploading a JPG of 100x100 (only 9kb) and I got an error message that says not the proper file format.

So I am asking, what file format is necessary for avatars?

The image you describe should be fine, I guess try again?
It's a real jpg image right, not a bitmap (for example) renamed to .jpg.

I guess you could try rename it from my_image.JPG to my_image.jpg, but it shouldn't matter .

If you can't figure it out, it might have to do something with the writing rights on the server, though that's a pain to figure out >.>

It was created on MS Paint and saved as a jpg. But yes it was on my work computer. I will try again on my home computer. Thanks for the info all.

You need to have a photo and video host...paintbucket or ImageShack are just two that are free. You can not just get it from off your computer.

You can do that for an avatar right (the image on your profile).

You can't paste pictures from your computer on this forum, that's true.

It seems avatars are not automatically scaled down and/or checked for size.

That's the problem.... The check should be there...
