I just want to ask you a favor here. I know some of you like funny game set-ups for example 8 caps on the Caribbean or something, but please these are crazy games and are not really fair, I will give a list of maps and how many people are the right amount, I want to ask you to please don't create huge games on a small map unless your a fan of waiting forever. Its not fair to a lot of people if they go last, and also no fun really. Its cool to maybe create a short game on a big map, so you can do that, but it takes longer usually, and its harder. Here are the right maps for amount of players:

2-4 Players:
Ancient Realm
Caribbean
Central America
Dominican Republic
Isthmus of Panama
Oregon Cities
Saturn

3-5 Players:
Basketball
Brazil
Caribbean Double
ElD World HD
Europe
Falkland Islands
Great Britain & Ireland
House
Tor
United States
World Classic
World Modified

4-7 Players
Eastern Asia
Europe 1814 (Advanced)
Jungle of Despair
Korea - Japan
Mediterranean States
Realm of Honored PLayers
San Francisco
Tamriel
Victron

5-9 Players
Africa
New York City
Westeros
World Expanded

These are really the best maps for number of players. I am not asking you not to create crazy games, but I mean don't do it frequently, because first of all you will wait much longer for people to join, and also its not too fair for last players for example the Caribbean map with 8 players. A lot of people just join a game to get into it faster and play, but it doesn't mean they actually want play a crazy game like that. These are just good ideas and good tips.

I once had a 9 player same-time no-card fog-of-war deathmatch on world expended with adjacent reinforcement.

That was fun.

If you got to the beta game creation page, you'll actually see that you can filter maps on size and that when you select a map, the recommended amount of players is shown ;)
