I've heard the word 'clan' a lot on D12. On some forums, in game chat, but i have no idea what they are. Are they like teams or something? Of course, i haven't heard anyone say 'I'm in a clan', so do they even really exist?
Thanks all

Clans are players who want to be associated with each other in a group for mostly social reasons. We do not have clans. There currently are no plans to have any. Some of the core members of the site don't like the idea. It can be argued that clans cause more illegal teaming because members of the same clan are less likely to attack each other early on in the game.

What Vexer says is indeed right. Mainly online games are played in clans a lot. However, clans are not necessarily limited to one game. I know of clans that play several games and also additionally have a Minecraft server running.

A clan is basically a community focused on playing games together and can somewhat be compared to "guilds" you see in almost every popular MMORPG, except they (usually) also communicate outside the game via a forum or teamspeak.

Clans may be something that can be looked into if/when we are able to get around to programming team games. At that point it would bring a new dimension to the site by creating clans.
