Filling up tournaments quickly

Why is the reward for winning a tournament tokens? Why not rating? For rating you could collect 10 rating points from each player as an entry fee and the winner will get that as a prize. You might find it more players willing to play to try to climb the rankings faster? It would definitely fill the tournaments quicker.

But you are not shelling out rating...each player contributes 10 points...so if you have 30 players ...the winner of the entire tournament will win 300 points....it actually may flush out who is truly a master at the game and who is here just gaming the system for ranking (like fishing for noobs)  just a thought...tournament would fillup faster...more fun for everyone...not expecting everyone to jump onto this idea...merely just a discussion....it's ok if the idea is dead in the water from the start
