Is there a way to put the the maps like Japan(4mygod), and Europe(WCA) in the game? Also, 4mygod was in the Process of creating a new World map, but i dont think it was ever finished.

First, I should answer Cody's question. The only thing keeping us from getting those old half finished maps going is having someone with photoshop skills finish them. We would also need approval from the original creators to modify their work and we would also need their original files.

I know 4myGod is too busy to finish his maps himself and I have no idea why WCA isn't active on the site anymore.

Everyone is begging for a Europe map but no one has expressed any interest in contacting WCA about finishing his Europe map for him.

Second, I would like to add a few words to this guide.
For the sake of the site's reputation of being professional, we have to have professional looking maps. We won't add any maps that are poorly designed or are cheesy looking.

Maps should have regions, territory connections and a theme. If you are able to work out the regions and territory connections in a diagram but don't have the skills to make it look professional or have trouble coming up with a theme, post it in the forums anyway. If the map looks interesting then we can find someone to help make it pretty.

The hardest part of making a map, believe it or not, is not the artistic part. The hardest part is making the map have unique and fun game play. A map can be absolutely gorgeous and be no fun to play at all.

One other thing to keep in mind is that sometimes a heavily themed map can limit options for game play. Some themes just don't end up working out. You can always default to a continents-world map theme if you can't find a new theme that fits the regions and connections you want to make.

Those maps have their own threads Pntbttr. The Saturn map is waiting for lucide's input before it goes active. The alien map will be done as soon as either me or lucide have the time to input the territory connections and region bonuses.

Just wanted to bring attention back to this thread. please read it before starting a map.

And I just want to remind everyone that the site has high standards for maps. When you submit a map you can expect to get some feedback and we will even ask you to change some things so that the map will conform to the site's standards. You may even have to redo the whole map to meet the quality standards.

Please don't expect us to add a map the day after you upload it. There is a process here.

How would I get a pic of an area on earth with out all the names and colors and stuff (this might not be possible but if there is an easier way I would really like to know)? If you take a pic off the internet to help with your map what exactly are you suppose to do to say that this was not all my work or what ever?

i would just give credit in the first post on the map's thread. you can edit the first post at any time to add the credits.

use google image search to try and find the right map. you may just find a really high resolution picture of the entire world and just cut out the part you want.
