I've played most if not all the maps. I like them all. The diversity in gameplay is what makes this site great. I'll have to say that NYC is my favorite by far. Especially team games

I know there are more important things right now but today is the day I had decided for updating the map stats.
Just because it's a round number as Julian Day and it will make easier to calculate in the future, let say every 100 days.
It's a coincidence it refers to the "day zero" of the site migration, but I think it's cool!

So here the new rating:

So after 100 days it's time for stats again. Really it was April 22th but I had no time to post, so I just took a screenshot of the "games played" to keep them recorded at 22th April 2016. Now I can publish my stats.

- D12 History -
24 most played maps in the history of Dominating12 ordered by total games played.
Most games played (click to show)
This clearly promotes the older maps, but it is just a tribute to the maps that make the history of the site. Anyway it's nice to see also some successful maps of recent years like Balkan Peninsula and Anchor Bay. And most of all World Reduced: it started slowly, but now it runs fast!

- Overall Popularity -
Average games per day (g/d), from the map creation until now (22th April). Comparison with recent trend (last 100 days).

All the others (click to show)
Well, always World Classic is widely the first. Caribbean map still widely the second but nowadays it has to compete with the great power of the "States" maps -- United States and Mediterranean States -- but keep in mind Caribbean has Premium restriction so it's still a great success. Some old good maps, once very popular, now fallen forgotten... but sometimes they get revitalized! Most remarkable success on that subject are the surprising climb of Brazil and Victron.

- Pie Charts -
This only refers to the last 100 days. Popularity by size (small, medium, large, very large).
Top 12 most played maps are shown in the first pie-chart and top 6 of each category in the last four.
Favourite maps and sizes (click to show)
Favourite maps by size (click to show)
Comparison among same size maps could result to be somehow more fair. It looks like there is one reigning map in each category, World Expanded especially. Medium is clearly the most played size, even if you exclude the huge contribution of World Classic.
(I don't know if it is a mistake but I counted Europe as medium size, not large. If not so then the 6th map in the medium size would Balkans, right under Falklands)
(I counted Australasia like having 78 games in the last 100 days, even if it is not 100 days old yet, so it cannot be fairly compared)

In the end everybody has his own preferences on maps, but I think all D12 maps have something good to offer. So I suggest to try to play them all and do not fix on playing the sames everytime. Anyway I'm always interested on map stats, looking at how preferences change and how few maps get very popular and others don't. I hope to have shared something that some of you also find interesting.

LoL I went by supposition.

jr502
is the data available to break them down by game type?
https://dominating12.com/shop/gametypes
No I don't think so, unless programmers can make it.

Personally what I would like to know is the average number of players for each map.
